Boosting business through Virgin Media Pioneers Power Up event

7th December 2015

Virgin Media Pioneers, now in its 7th year, exists to boost business through digital skills. It is an online community of entrepreneurs and start-ups that use offline and online opportunities that the community provides to get inspired, get connected and get ahead.

In November we supercharged the offline benefits of the programme by hosting eighty entrepreneurs at two Power Up events in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, in collaboration with Freeformers. The event was free and both days gave attendees the opportunity to build on their skills in the areas of coding, app building, social media platforms and cyber security in a workshop format.

In addition to the interactive working sessions, we also invited established entrepreneurs and small business experts to share their experience and top tips at a discussion panel.

Feedback from the attendees was very positive with comments that include: “I now know what I need to do – I can now create a website, how amazing is that?” and “The app session got me thinking – there is so much I need to do. This app will transform my business… this has been a high energy and very practical day”.
