To protect you from potential viruses, Virgin Media Mail does not allow you to receive attachments that contain executable files (such as files ending in '.exe') that might contain damaging code. Neither do we allow other file types that commonly contain harmful code.
Virgin Media Mail won't accept the following file types;
.ade, .adp, .bat, .cab, .chm, .cmd, .com, .cpl, .exe, .hta, .ins, .isp, .jar, .jse, .lib, .lnk, .mde, .msc, .msp, .mst, .pif, .scr, .sct, .shb, .sys, .vb, .vbe, .vbs, .vxd, .wsc, .wsf, .wsh
If this type of file is sent to your Virgin Media Mail account the message is bounced back to the sender automatically. For you to receive these file types the sender would need to look at a different way of sharing these files with you. Using Cloud or online storage would be a good alternative to share files instead of using email.
Also, Virgin Media email allows you to send and receive messages up to 25 megabytes (MB) total (including attachments). Any message that exceeds this limit will not be delivered to the inbox and will be returned to the sender.
