There are a few surefire signs that British summertime is upon us. The supermarkets are selling charcoal by the bucket, you’ve lost track of time and space in a pub garden at least once, and Emily and Michael Eavis have opened over 900 acres of Somerset farmland to 200,000 festivalgoers.

And there’s no need to head all the way to Worthy Fam to catch the biggest and brightest musical talents in the world. Instead, you can join the fun from the comfort of your home, catching all your favourite acts either live or at a time that better suits you (like when the kiddos have gone to bed). That’s all the entertainment without the price tag, tent construction or endless queues to the loos, bar and food stalls.

Where can I tune in to Glastonbury?

From Friday 27 June to Sunday 29 June, with Apps > BBC iPlayer you can indulge in over 90 hours of performances with live streams of Glastonbury’s five main stages: Pyramid (available in Ultra High Definition and with British Sign Language), Other, West Holts, Woodsies and The Park. Hosts including Clara Amfo, Jo Whiley and Lauren Laverne are on hand to guide you through all the action as it happens. Smashing.

Friday 4 July

  • Best Of Glastonbury 2025 – 11pm, BBC Two HD (CH 102)

Headline acts include The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, while Alanis Morrisette, Doechii, Noah Kahan and Lola Young are set to perform for the first time and Rod Stewart has snagged this year’s Sunday Legends slot, meaning Glastonbury 2025 is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

To help you get in the mood for the festivities, we’ve got together and picked our favourite Glastonbury performances in the festival’s recent history, as well as which artists we’re looking forward to catching this year. Read on for some inspiration and to see if you agree with our list…

Avril Lavigne (2024)

Charlotte Briggs, Feature Writer, says…

“When Avril Lavigne performed last year, organisers seriously underestimated the power of nostalgia as a 70,000-strong crowd deserted the main stage to rock out with the Canadian pop-punk princess. Kitted out in her staple OTT eyeliner and fishnets, Lavigne stomped across the stage while belting out iconic tunes from Y2K anthem “Sk8r Boi” to melancholy ballad “I'm With You”, leaving her bratty minions jumping for joy and experiencing teen angst in equal measure.”

This year’s picks: “Another Canadian powerhouse, Alanis Morissette, whose groundbreaking album Jagged Little Pill still gets me right in the female rage feels. It also influenced generations of confessional-driven artists like Girl In Red, who’ll be pouring her heart out on Sunday’s Park Stage. I’ve been practising my “Apple” dance for Charli XCX’s set (because Brat summer never really ended), while you can always count on festival staples Nile Rodgers & Chic for some funky beats (bop-shoo-wa, bop-shoo-wa, bop-shoo-wa).”

  • Alanis Morissette – Pyramid Stage, Friday, 6.15pm

  • Charli XCX – Other Stage, Saturday, 10.30pm

  • Girl In Red – The Park Stage, Sunday, 4.30pm

  • Nile Rodgers & Chic – Pyramid Stage, Sunday, 6pm

Wet Leg (2022)

Chris Miller, Feature Writer, says…

“It’s a real thrill to watch a band come of age on the hallowed Glastonbury stage. Almost exactly a year after their infectious anthem “Chaise Longue” was released, Wet Leg played it on the Park Stage, drinking in the crowd’s adoring acclaim and building in a glorious, handclap-accompanied crescendo. A performance that started almost coyly but ended as a triumph.”

This year’s picks: “Apart from the return of Wet Leg with new material, I’m excited about Irish country-pop singer/songwriter CMAT bringing her witty, singalong tunes to the Pyramid Stage on Friday. Father John Misty’s recent stuff has an epic feel perfect for those wide open spaces, and Beabadoobee’s dreamy indie-pop is just right for an early afternoon slot. And Doechii on Saturday night will be wild.”

  • CMAT – Pyramid Stage, Friday, 1.30pm

  • Beabadoobee – Other Stage, Saturday, 2pm

  • Father John Misty – Woodsies Stage, Saturday, 7.30pm

  • Doechii – West Holts Stage, Saturday, 10.45pm

Royal Blood (2017)

Tom Larcombe, Senior Designer, says…

“Fresh from hitting No.1 in the UK album charts, Brighton duo Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher landed on the Pyramid Stage in 2017 like a sonic boom for one hour of full force, bone-rattling rock and roll, as it should be. Brad Pitt was seen backstage, high-fiving Kerr’s dad and fangirling over the explosive riffs that sent ripples through the crowd. From mosh pits to crowd singalongs and rave reviews, this set had it all.”

This year’s picks: “Another duo I’m backing to make a serious impact live and pick up plenty of new fans are Nova Twins. Their high-octane set is sure to shake things up. My wildcard pick? Different, but every bit as powerful, Yann Tiersen’s long-awaited Glastonbury debut promises to drift across the fields like a cinematic tide, stirring hearts and silencing crowds. I can’t wait to see how his ambient, piano-and-violin-driven sound resonates on such a grand stage.”

  • Fatboy Slim – Lonely Hearts Club, Friday, 10.30pm + Shangri-La Stage, Saturday, 1am + Genosys, Saturday, 4.30pm

  • Yann Tiersen – Tree Stage, Friday, 11.50pm + The Park Stage, Saturday, 11.10am

  • Nova Twins – Woodsies, Saturday, 4.30pm

  • Biig Piig – Lonely Hearts Club, Saturday, 7.30pm

Doly Parton (2014)

Ailsa Bannerman, Picture Editor, says…

“The queen of country music filled Glastonbury with big love which shone right back at her from the 200,000+ crowd, a festival record. In between songs she joked, delighted and made us all feel that the world is a much better place with a bit of Dolly in it. Watching the crowd singalong to the big hitters, some of them in blonde wigs and rhinestones, filled me with joy and I’m sure we weren’t the only ones to join in from home.”

This year’s picks:Wolf Alice. All festivals need a bit of alt-rock and a lead singer with fantastic stage clothes. This isn’t their first rodeo and they know how to play to big crowds like it’s a more intimate space. I’m also looking forward to The Libertines for some early 00s bangers, as well as Rizzle Kicks (I said what I said). And what about the surprise guest slot – could it be Taylor Swift? Harry Styles? Or… is it in fact Pulp? (I hope it’s Pulp.)”

  • Rizzle Kicks – Other Stage, Friday, 1pm

  • TBA – Pyramid Stage, Friday, 4.55pm

  • The Libertines – Pyramid Stage, Sunday, 2pm

  • Wolf Alice – Other Stage, Sunday, 7.45pm

Little Simz (2024)

Darren Siveter, Creative Director, says…

“While most artists performing right before the top bill act might feel the pressure, Little Simz kept her cool and then some throughout her triumphant set on the Pyramid stage. Armed with just a microphone for most of her slot, the north London rapper wasted no time getting the crowd in the palm of her hand with a mesmerising show packed with tight bars, guest appearances from Jack Peñate and Obongjayar, and the first performance of the then unreleased track “The Code”. Simply unforgettable.”

This year’s picks: “If your musical tastes fall anywhere between jazz quintets and dance/punk/klezmer, then you’re not going to want to miss Ezra Collective and Fat Dog (the latter were lauded as “2023’s wildest live band”). Elsewhere Aussie rockers Amyl & The Sniffers fronted by the energetic Amy Taylor are taking the world by storm thanks to their high-energy, chaotic punk shows, and any performance from The Prodigy will have you raving into the early hours.”

  • Fat Dog – Woodsies, Friday, 2pm

  • Amyl & The Sniffers – Other Stage, Saturday, 5pm

  • Ezra Collective – Other Stage, Saturday, 6.45pm

  • The Prodigy – Other Stage, Sunday, 9.45pm
