Where was This Country filmed?

Northleach, Gloucestershire

This small market town in the Cotswolds was chosen as the central location for This Country. Northleach lies in the River Leach valley, about 10 miles from Cirencester and 11 miles from Cheltenham. Once a substantial market town, it's now just a large country village. It sprawls over a network of residential streets used in the series for various locations.

The Marketplace, Northleach

A market has been held on this spot for 800 years, and we often see Kerry and Kurtan in this central location. It's surrounded by period houses and newer shop fronts, with an elaborate sign in the centre commemorating the town's status in the wool trade.

15 Fortey Road, Northleach

This residential property is used for Kerry’s house, about five minutes' walk from Northleach High Street. Along the road, there's an alleyway leading between houses and allotments to the woods and open fields.

Church View, Northleach

Just off Farmington Road, on a little rise called Church View, are the lock-up garages where Kerry keeps her vacuum cleaners..

The Bus Shelter, High Street, Northleach

The long High Street, full of stylish old houses, leads into the Marketplace, with the bus shelter where Kerry and Kurtan often hang out.

Nangles Allotments, Northleach

In series three, Kerry is filmed in the allotments looking after chickens.

Fairford Bowls Club, Gloucestershire

This large bowls club has several greens and a bar. It was used for bowling scenes with the vicar in This Country. Later, Kurtan is filmed working behind the bar.

The Sherborne Arms, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

The Sherborne Arms is the real pub that was used to shoot The Keepers Arms in This Country.
