Updating Virgin Media Mail settings on OS X / macOS

Please make sure the server settings in Mail on OS X / macOS match the settings at Email Settings for all Virgin Media domains. This applies for POP, IMAP and SMTP server settings.

If you need some help with changing your settings, we’ve put together some help.

To find out whether you’re using POP or IMAP:

  1. Open Mail
  2. Go to File > Preferences
  3. Select Accounts
  4. Select your Virgin Media Mail account
  5. Go to Server Settings

The Incoming Mail Server will say either POP or IMAP depending on your set up. Follow the appropriate instructions below to update your settings.

If you’re using OS X 10.10 or later, you may have Automatically manage connection settings selected. If this is the case, update your host name, username and password details following the steps below, but you won’t need to update your Port or SSL/TLS settings.

To update your POP Server settings:

  1. Open Mail
