What is Virgin Media's Web Safe?

Web Safe combines the following features to protect any device that’s connected to your Virgin Media home network to help keep you, your family and your gadget’s safe:

Child Safe

Child Safe helps to protect agains malicious or content unsuitable to children including: pornography, violence, crime, self-harm, hate, suicide, drugs and hacking crime.

Our customisable Child Safe filters allow you to block or allow individual sites and site categories and set a timer to switch Web Safe off for a period of time. See Child Safe for details.

Virus Safe

Virus Safe helps to protect against websites that may be fraudulent or contain viruses.

By using Web Safe, any device that you use to connect to the internet via your Virgin Media broadband within your home will be protected, including:

  • PCs
  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Games consoles
  • Mobile phones

NOTE: this only applies when connected to the internet through your Virgin Media home broadband connection.
