Here’s all you need to know about the best game releases in March and April 2026.
Resident Evil Requiem
Available now on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2
The thing about horror: familiarity leads to a dwindling fear factor. But the 30th title in the Resident Evil franchise (including four remakes) is the exception to the rule. Taking things in a different direction from 2021’s acclaimed Village, it follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, who investigates the post-nuclear remains of Raccoon City. Helping her is none other than federal agent Leon Kennedy, first introduced in the series’ sophomore title. It feels like a proper classic Rezzy survival horror, so if you haven’t already got your mitts on the fastest-selling game in the franchise’s history (and at the time of writing, the best-selling game of the year), what are you waiting for?
World Of Warcraft: Midnight
Available now on PC
Midnight is upon us. The World Of Warcraft universe has just got even bigger with the franchise’s 11th expansion pack, and the second chapter of the Worldsoul Saga trilogy promises to be its darkest one yet. Xal’atath, the ancient and malevolent being of the Void, has brought the Voidstorm to Azeroth and it’s up to the forces of Light to stop her army of Domanaar before they devour everything in their wake. Prepare for battle in the revamped elven kingdom of Quel’Thalas where new Delves, dungeons and raids await, as you join forces with the Alliance and the Horde to defend your home against the looming Void apocalypse.
Scott Pilgrim EX
Available now on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch
Following the events of the Scott Pilgrim Takes Off anime series, Toronto has fallen into chaos as a gang war rages between the Vegans, the Demons and the Robots. Scott’s Sex Bob-omb bandmates have been abducted and Scott and his girlfriend Ramona can’t rescue them alone, so they enlist the help of their former enemies in the League of Evil Exes and thus a multi-dimension, time-bending, brawling adventure begins. With new playable characters including Matthew Patel, Lucas Lee, Roxie Richter, Robot-01 and Gideon Graves, as well as the return of chiptune rock band Anamanaguchi on the game’s soundtrack, the comic book franchise continues to delight with this side-scrolling beat-’em-up game penned by the Scott Pilgrim creator himself, Bryan Lee O’Malley.
Marathon
Available now on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
After a near two-year wait (or more than 30 years if you’ve been waiting for the series’ reboot since the original 1990s release), Bungie’s first-person extraction shooter Marathon has been given a modern makeover that has left critics and players raving. It’s 99 years on from the events of the original game, and players take on the role of a small crew of cybernetic mercenary Raiders, whose mission is to loot the lost colony of the planet Tau Ceti IV. But while treasures, fortune and power await, so do rival Raider teams, hostile security forces, ambush attacks from Rook scavengers and deadly environments including toxic gas and poisonous plants. Gulp.
WWE 2K26
Available now on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2
Step into the ring for a new era of wrestling. In WWE 2K26, players can enjoy all their favourite features from the 2K franchise as well as some brand new additions including game-changing upgrades and the largest-ever WWE 2K roster with 400+ playable characters. Plus, there’s the debut of new match type Dumpster as well as the return of franchise favourites Inferno, I Quit and the 3 Stages Of Hell, while the 2K Showcase mode focuses on the career of WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. Available in four editions: Standard, King Of Kings, Attitude Era and Monday Night War.
Pokémon Pokopia
Available now on Nintendo Switch 2
Is it lazy to say this is Pokémon meets Animal Crossing? It’s very hard to look at this game and shift away from that viewpoint. Besides, why would that be a bad thing? You play as a Ditto – a glutinous pink blob – with the aim of shaping an empty land into a beautiful habitat for a variety of Pokémon. You’ll collect resources, build furniture and create homes for the little friends you meet. It looks adorable, and the portability of the Switch 2 means you’ll struggle to put this one down.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach
Available now on PC
At last, one of the biggest releases of 2025 is finally available for keyboard and mouse users. Players resume the role of Sam Porter Bridges (played by The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus) and are tasked with delivering cargo to scattered survivors across a post-apocalyptic open-world environment. However, this time around you can expect dangerous human and unworldly enemies, difficult terrains ravaged by natural disasters, more tactical and action-based combat, and all-new features to aid you on your mission – from stealth tactics to traversal tools and gadgets including gravity gloves.
Crimson Desert
Available now on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
It’s been talked about in the gaming industry as one of the biggest releases of the year. And the epic adventure Crimson Desert has been pegged by critics as “the most ambitious open-world game since Red Dead Redemption 2”. High praise indeed. The RPG instructs players to take control of Kliff, a member of the Greymanes, who navigates the medieval fantasy world of Pywel and battles rival factions, mythical creatures and arcane forces to reunite with surviving warriors of his clan. The game features breathtaking graphics, a dynamic combat system and enough vast open-world exploration to enable hours of never-ending gameplay.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup In Bellabel Park
Available from Thursday 26 March on Nintendo Switch 2
With The Super Mario Galaxy Movie about to hit cinemas, Nintendo’s 2023 Super Mario Bros. Wonder joining the Switch 2 family couldn’t have come at a better time for Mario and Luigi fans. Part of the franchise’s 40th anniversary collection, the upgrade includes new multiplayer co-op and competitive game modes, additional playable characters Rosalina and the Co-Star Luma, and the Meetup In Bellabel Park expansion packed with features like the Toad Brigade Training Camp, two large plazas filled with attractions and new mischief. Expect colourful and nostalgic mayhem.
Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream
Available from Thursday 16 April on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
Sometimes all we want in from our gaming experience is to chill with a little bit of silliness, and that’s exactly what the long-awaited third entry in the Tomodachi Life series is built to do. Once again, players assume control of Miis as they live out their carefree lives on a remote tropical island, with new developments to the simplistic social sim including high-definition, graphics, controlled interactions between Miis, advanced customisation in the Mii maker, and the inclusion of non-binary Miis, aromantic Miis and same-sex relationships. Sit back, relax and immerse yourself in the ultimate Tomodachi Life experience.
Mouse: P.I. For Hire
Available from Thursday 16 April on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2
In a year that’s likely to be littered with sequels and continued franchises, how about a first-person shooter that looks like Steamboat Willie mixed with a classic crime thriller? It’s quite something seeing the black-and-white charm of hand-drawn 1930s “rubber hose” animation integrated with fast-paced FPS combat. Mouse: P.I. For Hire also promises a deep detective noir storyline with cases to solve, plus a big band jazz soundtrack. Truly original games like this are rare these days, but from the looks of it, the risk has paid off.
Pragmata
Available from Friday 17 April on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom’s sci-fi shooter has been hailed by fans as “out of this world”. Using a third-person perspective, gamers assume control of both spacefarer Hugh and android Diana, the unlikely duo who have been sent to a lunar research station to defeat the hostile AI robots that have taken over. Sounds simple, right? Except the only way to get the better of these enemy bots is through a combined skillset of Diana’s hacking abilities and Hugh’s diverse arsenal of firearms. With advanced graphics technology, cutting-edge design, intriguing puzzle elements and impressive attention to detail throughout, Pragmata is sure to impress even the most seasoned gamers.
