Here’s all you need to know about the best game releases in May and June 2026.
Forza Horizon 6
Available from Tuesday 19 May on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
Before the first wildly fun Forza Horizon arrived on the scene in 2012, car games were pretty serious affairs, more concerned with realism and showing off graphically how far each generation of consoles had come. This latest effort brings all the madcap racing events, car culture and free roam driving to a Japan-inspired location, with a stylised version of Tokyo as the game world’s main city. Other locations include Mount Fuji and Hokkaido, and it also features a dynamic weather system.
Yoshi And The Mysterious Book
Available from Thursday 21 May on Nintendo Switch 2
Fresh from his escapade on the big screen with the Mario Bros and co, Yoshi is starring in another out-of-this-world adventure in the form of this side-scrolling 2D platformer that’s exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. Join the little green dragon as you navigate the pages of a magical encyclopaedia to meet the charming critters that lie within. Adorable fun for all the family.
LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight
Available from Friday 22 May on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2
Return to LEGO Batman’s brick-built world for a whole new adventure that’s been described as “a love letter to Batman” by DC Comics president Jim Lee. Choose to play solo or through local multiplayer as you scale an open-world Gotham City as one of the playable characters Batman, Jim Gordon, Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman and Talia al Ghul, all while solving puzzles and facing familiar foes like The Joker, The Penguin, Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy.
007 First Light
Available from Wednesday 27 May on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
It is a truth universally acknowledged that anytime someone mentions a new James Bond game, they must immediately compare it to GoldenEye 007 – the seminal first-person shooter that’s one of the greatest games of all time. Signs are good for this origin story of Ian Fleming’s super spy. It’s from developers of the successful Hitman franchise, and it has plenty of similarities to those titles while adding the quips, gadgets and action set pieces you’d expect from a Bond game.
Bluey’s Quest For The Gold Pen
Available from Thursday 28 May on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
Welcome to the Heeler household, where so many of Bluey’s playtime adventures unfold, as you join lovable pup Bluey on an epic quest that’ll take you through every corner of your imagination. With hand-drawn environments, characters old and new, and spellbinding hidden treasures, you’ll make your way through Bluey’s creative world as she saves the Gold Pen – which has been stolen by the mischievous (and very familiar-looking) King Goldie Horns.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Available from Wednesday 3 June on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch
Final Fantasy fans have been waiting patiently for the release of the reimagined 1997 VII Rebirth to reach their Xbox and Switch consoles. And the second instalment of the revamped trilogy won’t disappoint, with critics and gamers alike already praising the game’s improved mechanics and gameplay, refined combat system and the expansion of Gaia’s open-world map. Let the unknown journey continue…
Gothic 1 Remake
Available from Friday 5 June on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
The 2001 release of Gothic 1 helped to shape the open-world RPG genre as we know it, earning critical acclaim and even inspiring the renowned The Witcher game series. So, what can players expect from the remake of such an iconic title? Developers have promised to build on Gothic 1’s dark fantasy lore, introducing a new cast of community characters, more responsive combat, improved graphics and audio, and an expanded, dynamic world just waiting to be explored. Impressive stuff.
EA Sports UFC
Available from Friday 19 June on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
The “Super Bowl” event for MMA enthusiasts around the world is nearly here. Get ready to jab, roundhouse and takedown your opponents as UFC 6 promises more carnage and chaos in the Octagon than ever before, with the introduction of ragdoll physics, more realistic reactions to damage and thrilling new gameplay feature Flow State. Best of all, for the first time players can step into the shoes of some of the most legendary fighters in the game with the new Hall Of Fame mode. Available in two adrenaline-fuelled editions.
