Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Available from Thursday 16 October on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
It’s happening: we’re going back to Kalos. Pokémon Legends: Z-A takes place in a reimagined Lumiose City, and we’re very excited. The last time we were here was more than a decade ago in Pokémon X and Y – and now we get to see the Paris-like capital blown up into a sprawling open world, packed with secrets, vertical exploration and, yes, plenty of cafés. The vibe is part urban adventure, part futuristic mystery, with Mega Evolutions also making a comeback. You’ll still be sneaking up on wild Pokémon, chucking Poké Balls and building out your dream team, but this time the stakes feel bigger. Game Informer said it may be the “best Pokémon game in years”. Yes, chef!
Jurassic World Evolution 3
Available from Tuesday 21 October on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
It’s Jurassic Park, it’s a massive park, what could possibly go wrong? Clearly the team behind Jurassic World Evolution 3 haven’t heeded the warning from Nick Mohammed’s Mr Swallow and frankly we’re glad. Available in both Deluxe and Standard Editions, this title brings baby dinosaurs and modular building to the dino-mite park management sim, as well as more than 80 species of prehistoric animals, roar-some new attractions, powerful customisation options, and the ability to play with the laws of nature using genetic modification. Whether you choose to sacrifice your guests to any hungry dinosaurs, though, is up to you (we won’t judge).
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
)
Available from Tuesday 21 October on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
Spooky season is here and the sequel to cult classic Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines isn’t for the faint of heart. Players control Elder vampire Phyre, who has awoken from a century-long slumber to the unfamiliar world of 21st-century Seattle. Choose between six vampiric clans and feast your way through the city’s population with supernatural strength, blood sorcery, seduction, mind control, stealth or shadow weapons, all while solving a cold case that could prevent an open supernatural war from erupting. Every choice, plot and scheme you partake in determines what becomes of the undead and mortal world. Our advice? Remember that you’re not the only creature that goes bump in the night.
Plants Vs. Zombies Replanted
Available from Thursday 23 October on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
Truly, 2009 was one for the history books. Barack Obama was inaugurated as President of the United States, Kayne West gatecrashed Taylor Swift’s moment on the VMAs stage and Plants Vs. Zombies took the gaming world by storm, hailed as one of the greatest video games of all time. Feel old yet? In the present day, fans of the zombie horticulture franchise can relive the game that started it all with stunning upscaled graphics. Expect all the nostalgia in glorious HD as you revisit epic backyard brawls while uncovering new secrets, bonus levels, challenges and game modes (with 100% more BUTTER!). Smashing.
Dora: Rainforest Rescue
Available from Friday October 24 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch
Just when you thought that sneaky orange fox Swiper couldn’t swipe anymore, he’s got his furry little paws on another treasure and is causing chaos. Cue pint-sized explorer Dora and her monkey pal Boots, who are back together to save the day, and this time they’ve got to fix the swiped Super-Duper Duplicator and restore the vibrant Alebrije Tree before it’s too late. Run, jump and swing through five vibrant rainforest locations as you collect magic leaves and pods, unlock new places and objects, solve riddles and use Map to guide you through this colourful adventure. Kids and grown-ups can play solo or team up in local co-op mode. ¡Vámonos!
Chicken Run: Eggstraction
Available from Friday 24 October on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch
Avians assemble. After the laugh-out-loud escapades of Chicken Run: Dawn Of The Nugget, Molly, Rocky, Frizzle and the rest of the flock are back to liberate chickenkind once and for all. In this action-packed game, players team up and take control of the Chicken Run gang who use their special skills to sneak, scurry and scramble through five treacherous farms to rescue their feathered friends. Of course, there are plenty of obstacles along the way as you solve puzzles, collect eggs and outsmart an army of loopy poultry villains in this quirky cartoon co-op.
The Outer Worlds 2
Available from Wednesday 29 October on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
Remember the award-winning, first-person sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds which helped re-establish an entire genre? Us too. Now, after an agonising six-year wait, its standalone sequel is finally here. In a different solar system with a new roster of characters, players assume control of an agent tasked with uncovering the source of emerging rifts within space colonies owned by Earth’s megacorporations. New features include a wider range of melee weapons and firearms, better graphics, new equipment and armour, plus improved movement, stealth playstyle and combat dynamics. What developers have kept intact is the razor-sharp, witty and thoroughly entertaining narrative that left us in stitches with its predecessor. No notes.
ARC Raiders
Available from Thursday 30 October on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
If you love your games to be retro-futuristic coded, look no further than this sci-fi extraction shooter. On a future Earth where ARC Raiders takes place, machines have taken over the world and forced the remaining human population underground. Your mission? To leave the safety of your workshop and scavenge the desolate topside for valuable loot, while avoiding ARC robots and the unpredictable fellow survivors. It’s PvPvE (that’s player versus player versus environment), so you can play in teams of three or two or solo, and explore four distinctive maps with evolving weather conditions, enemies and mechanics, meaning that no raid will ever be the same. Epic.
Asterix & Obelix – Mission Babylon
Available from Thursday 30 October on PC and PS5
Mario and Luigi had better watch their backs because there’s another famous moustachioed tag-team duo raring to go. Play solo or co-op as heroes Asterix and Obelix and travel to the ends of the Earth on an epic quest in this thrilling platform adventure, where you must conquer more than 20 replayable levels packed with dangerous enemies, fast-paced battles and hidden secrets. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Asterix & Obelix adventure without a signature dose of Gaulish humour, so keep an eye out for nods to the beloved comic book series in this action-packed game that’s bursting with twists, turns and muscles!
Football Manager 26
Available from Tuesday 4 November on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Available from Thursday 4 December on Nintendo Switch
The wait is over. After the devastating cancellation of FM25 last year, the football management sim is back and it’s bigger than ever. Fans can expect all the much-loved features but with some major improvements that mark the biggest expansion to the FM universe in years. As well as huge graphical updates, better ball physics, more realistic player movements and revamped tactics thanks to the game’s move to the Unity engine, for the first time FM26 will have a full licence for the Premier League, meaning that official logos, kits and players photos are all present and correct. But the biggest news is the full integration of women’s football, with 14 playable women’s leagues worldwide and over 35,000 licensed players and staff in the database ready to go from the moment you fire it up. Bring it on!
Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment
Available from Thursday 6 November on Nintendo Switch 2
What do we want? Another Hyrule Warriors spin-off. When do we want it? Now! Taking place before the events of breakout hit The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, this hack-and-slash entry in the Zelda timeline blends the Hylians’ fantasy world with Dynasty Warriors’ “musou” style, making it the perfect playground to experience Ancient Hyrule’s Imprisoning War first-hand. Get ready for the legendary battle either alone or with a friend in two-player local co-op including a split-screen mode, and play as Princess Zelda, King Rauru, The Seven Sages and some brave new heroes to take down Demon King Ganondorf and his legion of dark forces.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7
)
Available from Friday 14 November on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One
The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos. Set 10 years after the events of Call Of Duty: Black Ops II, the eighth entry in the Black Ops series follows franchise favourite David “Section” Mason, now a JSOC commander and leader of a covert team investigating the mysterious resurgence of supposedly deceased terrorist Raúl Menéndez. Form a squad with up to four players or go solo in a narrative-driven campaign where psychological warfare and danger lurk around ever corner. With 16 electrifying 6v6 maps, two 20v20 maps and Treyarch’s legendary Round-Based Zombies mode available from launch, we reckon this is going to be the most explosive Black Ops mission yet.
