The Better Sister

Starring Jessica Biel (The Sinner) and Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect) and based on the novel by Alafair Burke, this is an electric thriller series about the terrible things that drive sisters apart and ultimately bring them back together. When the husband of high-flying Chloe (Biel) is murdered, she and her sister (Banks) unite as they try to untangle a complicated family history to discover the truth behind his death.

The Accountant 2

Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck, Argo) is a number cruncher with a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered and leaves behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” Wolff is compelled to solve the case. But when he’s pulled into a deadly conspiracy involving a ruthless network of killers, he’ll need the help of his lethal brother (Jon Bernthal, Daredevil: Born Again).

Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza writes and directs alongside Alex Garland (Civil War) in this movie about a surveillance mission that goes wrong for a platoon of American Navy SEALs in insurgent territory in Iraq. It’s based on Mendoza’s own experiences, with a script drawn from testimonies of the platoon members and is presented in real-time. D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Joseph Quinn and Charles Melton star.

Heads Of State

Stream it from Wednesday 2 July in Apps > Prime Video

There’s a pleasing old-school action vibe to Heads Of State as Idris Elba (Luther) and John Cena (Peacemaker) play a feuding UK Prime Minister (Elba) and US President (Cena). When they become targets of a powerful enemy, these rivals need to rely on each other as they go on the run. Alongside brilliant MI6 agent Noel (Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Citadel), they must find a way to thwart a conspiracy that threatens the free world.

What It Feels Like For A Girl

Set against the start of a new millennium, it’s a unique story about the trans experience, self-discovery and self-destruction. The Black Forest Murders

Death Valley

Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth in Death Valley, streaming on Virgin TV this month.

Timothy Spall (The Sixth Commandment) and Gwyneth Keyworth (Lost Boys & Fairies) are an unlikely team solving murders that rock their village community in this mystery-based comedy drama set in Wales. Spall is retired actor John Chapel, whose decades-long experience as a fictional TV detective proves invaluable to DS Janie Mallowan (Keyworth) as they tackle a different case every week.

From the writer of Big Little Lies and produced by Nicole Kidman, this Australian mystery drama starring Teresa Palmer, Miranda Richardson and Danielle Macdonald will keep you guessing right until the end. In typically enigmatic fashion, the synopsis reads, “One abandoned baby, two sisters with a secret, and a final chance to rewrite the past. But not all mysteries are meant to be solved.” Oo-er.

Our Guy In Vietnam

Guy Martin has travelled around the world, taking in some of the most memorable sights and experiences this little blue and green globe has to offer. On the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, the adventurer gets back on his bike to explore Vietnam’s past, present and future. He’ll see the legacies of the conflict – like a Huey helicopter graveyard – as well as finding out how the country is becoming an industrial powerhouse.

Jamie’s Dyslexia Revolution

TV chef and campaign Jamie Oliver recently turned 50. But he’s turning his attention back to his school days to delve into some of the challenges and issues that are still faced by an estimated 870,000 children with dyslexia across Britain. As one of the UK’s best-known dyslexics, Oliver will challenge the Government to do more to fix the education system in this powerful, must-watch documentary.
