Expect violence, betrayals and sharp dialogue as the duo go up against powerful types, including the Mob, with Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel) and Tony Shalhoub (Monk) along for the white-knuckle ride.

Harlan Coben’s Lazarus

If you want a surefire TV hit, get into the Harlan Coben business. More than a dozen screen versions of his books have been made in the past decade – but this is a Coben TV original, written for the screen by the novelist alongside Tom Farrelly (Fool Me Once) and Daniel Brocklehurst (Brassic). It stars Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & The Six) as a forensic psychologist who, after suffering a bereavement, begins to experience disturbing hallucinations that make him doubt everything. Spooky stuff. Bill Nighy (Living) and Alexandra Roach (Nightsleeper) co-star.
Eden

A group of Germans arrive on the isle of Floreana in the Galápagos archipelago, looking for a fresh start away from what they view as the corrupt morals of bourgeois Europe in the 1920s. But their idyll is disturbed by the arrival of a hedonistic woman who announces herself as Baroness Eloise Bosquet de Wagner Wehrhorn and has her own plans for the island. Will their little commune survive? Based on real events, Eden is directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) and has an all-star cast including Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Sydney Sweeney and Daniel Brühl.

The first series of Mawaan Rizwan’s surreal comedy was terrific (and BAFTA-winning), but so deeply odd that we weren’t sure it would return. Brilliant news, then, as the Taskmaster series 10 star is back with six new episodes. Jamma (Rizwan) is still dealing with his commitment issues and tricky relationships, and takes us on colourful, whimsical tangents inside his mind. Will he ever get better at adulting? Russell Tovey, as Jamma’s frustrated boyfriend, and Rizwan’s real-life brother Nabhaan and mother Shahnaz all reprise their roles.
Rye Lane

BAFTA 2025 Rising Star winner David Jonsson, currently starring on the big screen in Stephen King’s The Long Walk, got his big break in this charming comedy, which arrives on BBC iPlayer this month. He’s Dom, recently cheated on and miserable, whose awkward chance encounter with Yaz (Vivian Oparah, Then You Run) turns into a capricious one-day odyssey through the streets of south London, getting into various scrapes involving exes, mopeds and menstrual cups. One of the best British films of recent years.

In this eagerly awaited new drama from writer Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley, Gentleman Jack), five women form a punk band to enter a local talent contest – but they soon find they love the opportunity to express themselves, and the band becomes a catalyst for change in their lives. A testament to the power of friendship, music and the resilience of women who refuse to be silenced by age or expectation, Riot Women stars Joanna Scanlan (No Offence), Tamsin Greig (Friday Night Dinner), Lorraine Ashbourne (Sherwood) and Amelia Bullmore (Vienna Blood).

The genial presenter travels to the other side of the world to find some of his most amazing spaces to date, as he investigates remote homes in Australia and New Zealand and meets the resourceful people who built them. From the lush wilderness of Great Barrier Island to the secluded beauty of Lord Howe Island, Clarke finds out how environments shape the architecture and learns the inspiring stories behind them. The scenery is naturally incredible, while the residences truly push the boundaries of design in extreme conditions.

We can’t get enough of competitive travel shows like Race Across The World and Destination X, so we’re excited about this new offering from Channel 4, which has an added generation-gap twist. Six young Brits who’ve never travelled alone are paired with six pensioners who thought they’d never travel again, and the teams are tasked with following clues to win a £50,000 prize. The location is Japan, where generous hospitality sits alongside serious cultural challenges. Across five episodes, find out which pair will overcome the divide and show the requisite teamwork to triumph.

The original-flavour pursuit show (no celebs here) returns for its eighth season, as a new group of contestants go on the run and attempt to evade capture for as long as possible. Their nemeses? Teams of specialist operatives who are stationed both in the Hunted HQ and at various points in the field, all under the command of former Detective Chief Superintendent Ray Howard. Last time out, siblings Jaxon and Nicola and businesswoman Sade made it to the end to win a share of £100,000. Will the hunted be successful again?

She catches the mugger (Rohan Nedd, Whitstable Pearl) but, rather than turning him in, teams up with him to form – yes! – a mismatched crime-fighting duo. And there are plenty of mysteries for them to untangle in their Irish town, from fledgling serial killers with Dostoevsky fixations to kidnappers, con artists and psychopaths. A fun addition to the cosy crime canon.
