European Rugby Champions Cup: Gloucester v Exeter Chiefs

Friday 14 December, 7pm, BT Sport 2 HD (CH 528)

In an all-English clash between two of the domestic game’s biggest teams, both Gloucester and Exeter will be hoping to get a win on the board and secure a place in the top two of their pool. The Chiefs are in great form in the Premiership and have led the way for much of the season so far, while Gloucester aren’t far off the top themselves – but they’ve been drawn alongside tough Champions Cup opposition in Castres and Munster, and a defeat for either side here could spell the end of their European rugby campaign.

Scottish Premiership: Livingston v Hearts

Livingston Scottish Premiership

Friday 14 December, 7.15pm, BT Sport 1 HD (CH 527)

It’s been a funny old season for newly-promoted Livingston. Having sacked player-manager Kenny Miller after just seven games, the team went on a seven-match unbeaten run that briefly saw them climb as high as third. Hearts, meanwhile, are looking to reclaim top spot after a string of injuries and a tough run of fixtures saw them lose the lead they held for the first 12 rounds of games. Livingston have proven to be a tough side to beat at home, so expect fireworks when the two meet at the Toni Macaroni.

Premier League: Fulham v West Ham

Saturday 15 December, 5pm, BT Sport 1 HD (CH 527)

East meets West in a London derby, with Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham travelling to the attractive riverside location of Craven Cottage to face a Fulham side looking to put their poor start to the season behind them under new manager Claudio Ranieri. Although the two sides pack plenty of talent, they’ve been underwhelming so far this term – and they’ll both be desperate for a win here to get their season back on track.

UFC: Kevin Lee v Al Iaquinta

Sunday 16 December, from 1am, BT Sport 2 HD (CH 528)

More than four years since Iaquinta’s tight points victory over Lee, these two top ten-ranked lightweights are set to face off once more. If their last contest was close, this one looks as though it will be even closer, with both fighters enjoying similar runs of form in winning five out of their last six contests. For the winner, a chance to challenge for a world championship belt beckons. The stakes are high and the potential for a memorable match-up is even higher…

UEFA Champions League and Europa League draws

Monday 17 December, 10.45am, BT Sport 2 HD (528)

It all comes down to this. Discover which of European football’s titanic teams will be facing off against the others in the knockout rounds of both the Champions League and the Europa League. There’s plenty of British interest left in both draws, making this pre-lunchtime pick a must-watch. And if previous form counts for anything, the draws are often unintentionally hilarious affairs.

Scottish Premiership: Hibernian v Rangers

Wednesday 19 December, 7.15pm, BT Sport 1 HD (CH 527)

If there’s one side Hibs manager Neil Lennon loves coming up against, it’s Rangers. The former Celtic captain and manager has enjoyed some feisty encounters with today’s visitors in the past, and he’ll hope his players can rise to the challenge when the sides come together at Easter Road. Hibs will be looking to close the gap between themselves and the top three, while Steven Gerrard’s side have put in some blistering performances of late, notably November’s 7-1 win over Motherwell. This should be a midweek clash to savour.
