Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026
)
It’s here! The quadrennial event that brings together thousands of the world’s top winter sports athletes comes to Italy, where the participants will do battle in 116 medal events across 16 disciplines. As well as the long-established categories like Alpine skiing, ski jumping and speed skating, there’s a new event for Milano Cortina 2026: ski mountaineering (aka SkiMo), a mix of skiing and hiking which tests competitors’ endurance to the limit.
TNT Sports has extensive live coverage, and the good news is that after two successive Winter Olympics in east Asia, the events in 2026 are at far more friendly European times. TNT Sports 2 HD will be entirely given over to the Olympic Winter Games during the event, bringing you round-the-clock coverage of the premium events, and there will also be live action on TNT Sports 3 HD, TNT Sports 4 HD and in ultra HD on TNT Sports Ultimate.
Two pop-up channels will also be in place during the event: TNT Sports Olympics 1 HD will bring you the best coverage from the most exciting sports at the Olympics, while TNT Sports Olympics 2 HD will focus on British athletes. The best medal hopes for Team GB? The curling team is strong, as always, but there are also opportunities in skeleton, freestyle skiing, snowboarding and ice dance. Look out for our full guide to Milano Cortina 2026 next week and check the weekly guide to live sport on Virgin TV for broadcast times.
As with the Summer Games, the Winter Olympics is a perfect opportunity to get really invested in an esoteric sport you normally spend very little time watching. So get ready for 19 days of thrills, chills and spills with the Olympic Winter Games on TNT Sports.

Winter Sports
Ahead of the Olympic Winter Games, catch some of the athletes in action in the world’s snowsports championships. Although they help the stars prepare for the big event, these are important in their own right, not least because the sports’ season is so short. Get ahead of your friends in Olympic knowledge by familiarising yourself with the contenders: there’s men’s Alpine skiing from Kitzbühel, Austria, and women’s from Špindlerův Mlýn, Czechia, while you can also see some of the top cross-country skiers, biathletes and, er, lugers. It’s always fast and thrilling so enjoy as much as you can on TNT Sports.

The first Grand Slam event of 2026 is here and TNT Sports has the action live from Melbourne. The 2025 men’s singles final was the last in a Grand Slam not to be contested by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz; it was Alexander Zverev who faced Sinner, but the German couldn’t stop the Italian winning in straight sets. Things were more varied in 2025’s women’s events, which produced four different Grand Slam singles champions: Madison Keys was arguably the most unexpected, when she beat two-time winner Aryna Sabalenka to become the lowest-ranked Australian Open champ for 18 years. Keys has risen in the rankings since but faces a tough battle to retain her title against Sabalenka, Iga Świątek, Amanda Anisimova et al.
What of the Brits? Men’s number one Jack Draper is sadly still out with injury and Emma Raducanu and others went out in the first two rounds. But Britain’s Henry Patten won the men’s doubles in 2025 with his Finnish partner Harri Heliövaara and the pair are back to defend that title, while GB’s Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool are the number one seeds in men’s doubles this year. Alfie Hewett took the wheelchair singles and doubles titles, the latter alongside fellow Brit Gordon Reid, while Andy Lapthorne was the champ – again – in the quad wheelchair doubles. Look out for their matches in the later stages of the 2026 tournament (if they progress).

Football: Premier League
Seriously, what is going on in the Premier League? After a shocking New Year’s Day produced three 0-0s in four games, the first midweek programme of 2026 gave us last-minute winners, penalty shenanigans, ludicrous red cards and derby drama. So let’s hope for more of the latter when TNT Sports has the midweek action in February, a schedule packed with possibilities.
How will Man Utd under interim manager Michael Carrick fare against a West Ham side showing signs of revival with their January signings? With Sunderland’s half-dozen Afcon stars back with the squad, will they have too much for inconsistent Liverpool at the Stadium of Light? Will Newcastle continue their surge up the table with a win at Tottenham Hotspur? After their frenetic 5-4 in December, can Fulham rattle Man City’s cage again? With new signings on display up and down the league, we simply don’t know what to expect.
And with weekend matches including Liverpool v Newcastle (one of these days it’ll be another helter-skelter 4-3 – it could be this one) and Man Utd v Spurs, it’s a packed month of unmissable Premier League action on TNT Sports.

Football: UEFA Champions League
)
The final matchdays in the league stage of the 2025/26 Champions League are upon us, and all the English clubs are in pretty good shape. Despite some, ah, inconsistent form in the Premier League, Liverpool, Newcastle and Spurs have gathered enough points to put themselves firmly in the play-off spots and a few more will ensure they’re seeded. Man City got everyone’s attention with their ruthlessly efficient victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, which put them in the top four, before their shock loss to Bodø/Glimt – but there’s no doubt that Arsenal have been the continent’s most impressive performers so far, with seven wins out of seven.
There are enough top-class contenders behind the Gunners that they haven’t quite guaranteed their spot in the round of 16 yet, but it’s surely just a matter of time. Don’t miss the Champions League action on TNT Sports in January. The play-offs begin on 17 February, with the round of 16 kicking off on 10 March.

Knockout Phase Play-offs, 1st Leg
Tuesday 17 + Wednesday 18 February, TNT Sports
Football: UEFA Europa League
Martin O’Neill now knows he has the rest of the season to manage Celtic, and reaching the knockout phase of the Europa League would surely lift the mood around the club. They’re still in the running, and six points could even get them home advantage in the play-offs. Their opponents, Bologna (away) and Utrecht (home), haven’t exactly set this competition alight. Rangers, despite gaining a solitary point from six games, can theoretically still progress at this point but they’ll need two wins and a whole lot of luck. Perhaps Porto will be qualified and rotating heavily by the time Danny Röhl’s team visit.
Aston Villa are among the leading group of clubs who’ve won five of their six Europa League matches this season. Lyon and Midtjylland are the others and that trio, along with Freiburg, Ferencváros and Real Betis, will definitely be in the knockout rounds. Unai Emery will want maximum points to avoid the play-offs but faces a difficult trip to Fenerbahçe before a home game against Salzburg. Forest are still in the hunt for automatic progress to the last 16 – they’ll need at least one win to achieve tha tas they travel to Braga of Portugal and host Ferencváros in the final league games. The play-offs begin on 19 February, with the round of 16 kicking off on 12 March.

Football: FA Cup Round 4
Macclesfield’s reward for pulling off the Official Biggest FA Cup Upset Of All Time is another home tie against Premier League opponents from London: Brentford are the potential victims this time, and the Macc heroes have got a prime Monday evening slot for their next showcase.
Elsewhere, you can see where TNT Sports has spotted the potential for more Cup romance, with Burton v West Ham and Grimsby v Wolves picked for live TV coverage. The bad news for the would-be giantkillers is that both Premier League teams have improved their form recently, while Burton are struggling near the foot of League One. Grimsby, though, are in the League Two play-off picture, and have already dumped Man Utd out of one cup this season...
Speaking of clubs who have knocked out Man Utd, Brighton’s visit to Liverpool is also live on TNT Sports. New Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior returns to former club Hull, while Prem leaders Arsenal face Wigan, who eliminated Preston (one division above them) and memorably beat Man City in the final just a couple of... er... maybe five... um, hang on... apparently THIRTEEN years ago. Oof.

It’s a tale as old as time, or at least as old as football. The emergency coaching appointment after a dismal run. The improvement that convinces the club to stick with the new coach. The seemingly inevitable poor form that sees off the coach a few months later… and the cycle begins again. Igor Tudor did a decent job when Juventus brought him in last March, losing just one match in the remainder of the season as the bianconeri qualified for the Champions League. But an eight-match winless run in autumn did for Tudor, and Luciano Spalletti was tasked with overseeing the rest of 2025/26.
After a shaky start the former Italy manager has improved Juve’s results, but fans may still require some convincing that the squad is good enough to compete seriously with the Milan clubs and Napoli for the scudetto. Wins over the likes of Parma and Lazio, live on TNT Sports this month, are essential. Ahead of those, you can see AC Milan and Inter in action ahead of a tricky period where they have to vacate San Siro to avoid the Winter Olympics opening ceremony; AC Milan’s match with Como is to be rearranged.

Football: Men’s A-League
New Zealander Jesse Randall, Australia’s Lachlan Brook and Englishman Sam Cosgrove have formed a devastating three-pronged attack for Auckland, with the trio registering impressive goal involvement numbers. They’ve helped their team to the top of the A-League ladder, which is where they finished last season, although coach Steve Corica will be determined to learn from that campaign and avoid defeat in the finals this term. This month TNT Sports has their live games at home to Sydney – the five-time champions who are having their best season in several years – and Central Coast and away to Perth Glory, among lots more Men’s A-League coverage each weekend.

Football: Women’s A-League
At the top of the Women’s A-League, no team has yet put clear air between them and the rest, and everyone down to Sydney in 10th is still within touching distance of the play-off places. However, the ominous thing for the teams challenging is that Melbourne City went top in early January despite having at least two games in hand on all their rivals (thanks to their trip to Vietnam in November to play the AFC Women’s Champions League group stage). They’re going for a hat-trick of titles and with a strong, settled team including exciting young Aussie striker Holly McNamara, they’re going to take some stopping.
Their local rivals Melbourne Victory and Canberra United are among the teams best placed to challenge them and those two face off at McKellar Park this month with crucial points at stake, while surprise contenders Perth Glory – who haven’t made the finals since 2018/19 – host Sydney and travel to Wellington for live matches on TNT Sports.

Rugby Union: PREM Rugby
It’s the final round of matches before many players depart for spring international duty, and the PREM is still a tight and tense contest with just two points between the top four. Bath could go top if they beat Gloucester in their Friday evening fixture; Northampton, who travel to Sale on Saturday afternoon, could replace them with a win over the Sharks. Fifth-placed Leicester are trying to break into the top four, which they could do with a bonus-point victory win at Harlequins if other results go in their favour. The next fixtures aren’t until the weekend of 21 March, which is a long time to look at an unchanging table if you’re not where you want to be. Catch these crucial matches live on TNT Sports.

Would it shock you to know that dominant champions Gloucester-Hartpury didn’t go into the PWR’s winter break top of the table? Saracens pipped them to that honour thanks to a superior points difference (and, er, having played one game more). As the season resumes, the holders will look to rectify that situation and quickly, although their home games against Loughborough and Harlequins – which you can see live on TNT Sports – won’t be the easiest, with both opponents fighting for a play-off spot. And it’s not that Gloucester are a one-woman team, of course, but we do wonder what impact an injury to Emma Sing would have. The full-back has scored 84 points so far this season, more than a quarter of her team’s total.

Rugby Union: PREM Rugby Cup
Leicester are struggling for consistency in the PREM season, having lost two of their first three and then seen a winning mini-run ended by Exeter. Not so in the PREM Cup, though, where they’ve carried all before them and sit top of Pool B with bonus points from their home wins over Saracens and Northampton. The Tigers will aim for more of the same when they host Newcastle this month – although before that, they face a much trickier prospect in the form of a trip to Northampton. Who will be first to qualify for the semi-finals? Keep up with this exciting competition on TNT Sports.

England were apparently “overprepared if anything” ahead of their 4-1 Ashes shellacking this winter, but they looked like they didn’t know where they were half the time. With that in mind, a series of white-ball matches in Sri Lanka ahead of the T20 World Cup (which Sri Lanka is co-hosting with India) seems a good idea. Harry Brook leads a team containing two of the world’s top-ranked T20 batters, Jos Buttler and Phil Salt, as well as Adil Rashid, who you feel will still be in the top 10 T20 bowlers when he’s 60.
Sri Lanka should offer a decent test without too much danger of a demoralising thrashing (although you never know); England will have to watch out for leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga in particular. The ODIs are in Colombo with the T20s in Kandy. Also warming up for the World Cup are India and New Zealand with a five-match T20 series.

Cricket: Super Smash T20
Almost unbelievably, Canterbury Kings have finished runners-up in the past five men’s Super Smash tournaments. This was particularly galling for them in the 2024 final, when they raced to 133 for two off 14.2 overs only for rain to thwart any further play, handing the title to Auckland Aces who had finished first in the league stage. The Kings are very much in the mix again this season, led by New Zealand captain Tom Latham, who’s contributed match-winning performances with the bat and been as steady as ever behind the stumps. Could sixth time be the charm? The final matches of the men’s tournament are live on TNT Sports, along with the women’s final.

Motorsport: Formula E
The 2025/26 season started well for the leading British Formula E drivers: Jake Dennis won the first race in São Paulo, while defending champ Oliver Rowland demonstrated his consistency with podium finishes in both Brazil and Mexico. But it’s New Zealand’s Nick Cassidy who leads the way after two rounds, thanks to an impressive victory at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez after he started 13th on the grid.
Now the drivers must adjust to an unfamiliar track, because the Miami ePrix has a new home at the Miami International Autodrome circuit – the venue that stages the city’s F1 Grand Prix. Pascal Wehrlein won in Miami in 2025, and he’ll be determined to repeat that success and climb the leaderboard as he attempts to claw back the championship he won in 2024. Then it’s on to Saudi Arabia for a pair of races at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. Keep up with the high-speed electric-powered action on TNT Sports.

“So all the British team need to do is stay ahead of their French rivals to claim what would be their first world title – and even if they don’t, the prize could still be theirs, depending on how the points fall.” That’s what we wrote ahead of the Saudi Arabia Rally, the final event of the 2025 World Rally Championship. And as British rallying fans will know, driver Elfyn Evans and co-driver Scott Martin did not manage to do that, finishing sixth in Saudi with 17 points, while Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais nabbed 24 to leapfrog them at the last and nab the title.
Now it’s a new year and a new opportunity for Evans and Martin to have another crack at achieving WRC glory. The good news for them is that not only has serial winner Kalle Rovanperä departed to join Japan’s Super Formula Championship, but Ogier and Landais have committed to only 10 of the 14 races in 2026. If the Brits are to prove that they’re not just perennial runners-up, now’s the time.
This year brings a couple of calendar changes, as the Croatia Rally returns in place of the Central European Rally, and the Italian event shifts from Sardinia to a Rome-based route. But as is traditional, the season begins in Monte Carlo, where Evans and Martin will be determined to get off to a great start.

When Alexander Volkanovski met Diego Lopes in a battle for the vacant featherweight championship at UFC 314, it was an epic showdown that went the distance and was named Fight of the Night. Volkanovski won by unanimous decision, but Lopes put up such a good show that a rematch was inevitable. Less than 10 months later, it’s the headline bout in UFC 325 – and this time Volkanovski will have a home crowd cheering him on, with the Octagon setting up at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.
Not surprisingly there’s an Antipodean flavour to the rest of the night’s schedule, with heavyweight Tai Tuivasa and light heavyweight Jimmy Crute of Australia and New Zealand lightweight Dan Hooker all in action. The following week, the UFC is back in Vegas for a bantamweight headline bout between Mario Bautista and Vinicius Oliveira. Enjoy all the action on TNT Sports.

Snooker
Germany doesn’t have a huge reputation as a hotbed of snooker but the German Masters dates back to 1995 (when it was known as the German Open) and although it had a few years off in between, it’s now firmly embedded in the calendar as a ranking tournament. Judd Trump has won it three times but was knocked out by Neil Roberston in the last 16 in 2025, which ultimately allowed Kyren Wilson to claim his second title at Berlin’s Tempodrom. Wilson’s the top seed for 2026 as he aims to defend his crown.
Then it’s on to the Kai Tak Arena in Hong Kong for the World Grand Prix, where a different seeding system means a strange-looking first-round draw, in which world number two Wilson is seeded 22. Robertson is the top seed and defending champ here, with the action live on TNT Sports all week long.
