Premier League: West Ham United v Manchester City

Saturday 10 August, 12pm, BT Sport 1 HD (CH 527)

The champions (just) are back in action for the first of 52 live Premier League matches on BT Sport this season. It took every last bit of Manchester City’s vast resources to hold off Liverpool for the title last season, and now they’ve got to do it all over again.

The first step on their journey? To win away at West Ham – a West Ham buoyed by the record signing of their new star striker, Sébastien Haller. Pep’s Blues have flashy signings of their own of course. This could be the first chance we get to see £62.8 million midfielder Rodri in meaningful action. But where will the game be won and lost? Click/hover on the icons below to find out more.

UEFA Super Cup: Liverpool v Chelsea

Wednesday 14 August, 7pm, BT Sport 2 HD (CH 528)

When you think of English football in the noughties, you think of Roy Keane versus Patrick Vieira. You think of the Arsenal Invincibles and the birth of “the Special One”. And you think of Liverpool and Chelsea’s classic clashes in the Champions League.

These two English titans haven’t met in Europe in a decade, which is a crying shame. Now, finally, they’re ready to do battle again, and with the UEFA Super Cup on the line. Do Champions League winners Liverpool have the edge, or are Europa League champions Chelsea about to deliver Frank Lampard his first trophy as a manager?
