It’s the biggest WrestleMania ever!

It’s the biggest WrestleMania ever!

The 38th edition of WWE’s flagship event is so huge it can’t even fit into one night! We look ahead to the big clashes, big stars and even bigger personalities on show

By Chris Miller, Writer

WrestleMania has always been the greatest night of the year for sports entertainment fans – but that’s no longer true. Because these days there’s SO MUCH incredible action stuffed into the event that it has to be split over two nights! And WrestleMania 38, which you can watch live on BT Sport Box Office WWE with Virgin TV this weekend, is shaping up to surpass all previous ’Manias.

This is an occasion that always features some of the biggest names in the promotion, of course – but this time around it’s billed as “The Most Stupendous Two-Night WrestleMania In History” and we’re not going to argue! With old scores due to be settled, famous folk poised to step into the ring and the unified WWE Championship on the line, you’re guaranteed two nights of non-stop crackerjack entertainment.

Here’s what you need to know…

What night is WrestleMania 38 on?

Which TWO nights, you mean!? As it has for the past couple of years, WrestleMania is taking over a whole weekend in early April. You can catch up with the action LIVE from Arlington, Texas, on BT Sport Box Office WWE on Virgin Media TV, with Day 1 at 1am on Saturday 2 April (early Sunday morning) and Day 2 at 1am on Sunday 3 April (early Monday morning). Don’t worry if you can’t stay up – both nights are repeated in full multiple times over the following days.

Which superstars will be in the ring at WrestleMania 38?

Two of the biggest names in WWE meet at the event – and it’s that rare thing: a Winner Take All Championship Unification. Brock Lesnar, WWE Champion, has challenged Roman Reigns, WWE Universal champion, to a showdown. It’s the Main Event of the second night, and the winner gets to call himself the undisputed WWE champ.

This will be the third time the two have met at WrestleMania and in the past it’s been a recipe for fireworks! Seven years ago, their face-off was interrupted by Seth “Freakin’” Rollins, who took the opportunity to turn it into a Triple Threat and snatch the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Three years later Reigns and Lesnar had another epic battle, which Lesnar won to retain the Universal Championship.

What are the other big matches?

On the first night two huge Women’s Titles are up for grabs. Becky Lynch defends her Raw Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair. Former UFC superstar Ronda Rousey returns to the ring to take on Charlotte Flair, holder of the SmackDown Women’s Championship. It just doesn’t get more intense than this in WWE!

Look out for incredible Tag Team action across the weekend too, with the SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Championships on the line for the men – plus a massive Fatal 4-way Match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship, as Queen Zelina and Carmella defend their title.

Are there celebrities involved?

WrestleMania always draws some of the biggest stars from across the sports and entertainment spectrum.

And Wrestlemania 38 is no different, with “Jackass” star Johnny Knoxville facing off against Sami Zayn in an Anything Goes Match on WrestleMania Sunday.

A volatile back-and-forth was sparked between the pair on SmackDown, at the Royal Rumble and outside the ring – and it’s all set to culiminate in this epic Sunday match-up.

WrestleMania 38 is live on BT Sport Box Office WWE with Virgin TV. Day 1 starts at 1am on Saturday 2 April (early Sunday morning) and Day 2 at 1am on Sunday 3 April (early Monday morning).
