Crystal Dynamics’ Scot Amos answers burning Marvel’s Avengers questions from the community in this exclusive video

Marvel’s Avengers game

Now that we’ve pored over every second of A-Day Gameplay footage from Marvel’s Avengers, we have some questions. Specifically, we have about a thousand (although 120 of those are just “can we play it now?” on repeat). So, as part of our exclusive partnership with 2020’s most anticipated video game, we sat down with Crystal Dynamics’ Head of Studio Scot Amos to grill him on the questions that have been giving us sleepless nights.

We trawled the forums and social media chatter to find out what you really wanted to know. Whether if was enquiries about the Avenger who will surprise people the most or whether you just want the definitive answer to who has the best beard – Thor or Iron Man – our exclusive video interview has it all. Check it out below, and read on for the key details you won’t want to miss…

San Francisco is only one part of the game

Marvel's Avengers game

“Folks think our game is set in San Francisco, but that’s just the opening level,” says Scot. “There’s actually an entire globe of regions that we go to with all types of missions.” In the video, he gives some tantalising hints about the Hero Missions and War Zone Missions too.

We learnt more about multiplayer

Info on multiplayer has been under lock and key, but Scot opened up to us and revealed: “Co-op supports up to four players simultaneously in all the War Zone missions. For us, that’s where you can really feel like you’re assembling an Avengers team.”

Scot disclosed the Avenger who will surprise you

“I actually think people will be most surprised by Black Widow,” says Scot. And after seeing her take down Taskmaster in the prologue game footage, we’d have to agree. He has a lot more to say about the Super Spy in the video, so check it out.

There WILL be a Photo Mode

Excitingly, Scot confirmed the presence of Photo Mode in the game. We don’t yet know what that’ll entail but get ready to fill your timeline with Iron Man in action. The end of that sentence is too cool not to repeat immediately: Iron Man photos, people!

Nobody can resist a Hulk smash (naturally)

The Hulk in the Marvel's Avengers game

Scot has seen many people play through the game’s prologue by now, so what does everybody do when they get their hands on the controller? “The first time you play as Hulk, every time we watch folks play our game, they land, they grab an enemy and they start using that as a weapon on other enemies, that makes everybody smile.”
