The final of the 2024/25 UEFA Women’s Champions League is here. Just 90 minutes (plus potentially extra time and penalties) separate Arsenal and Barcelona from football immortality.

You have to go back to 2021 for the last time an English side made it to the UWCL final, when Emma Hayes’ Chelsea were comprehensively beaten 4-0 by Barcelona, including an own goal after just one minute.

Arsenal, whose 2007 victory remains the only time an English team has lifted the trophy in the tournament’s 24-year history, will be hoping for a far better start against the Catalans.

We’re giving all TV customers with our Virgin TV V6 box (powered by TiVo®), Virgin TV 360 or Stream box the chance to watch the UEFA Women’s Champions League final between Arsenal and Barcelona at no extra cost.

Please note, if you watch TV on our older TiVo® box, you will not be able to access streaming channels. But it’s simple to upgrade to our latest Virgin TV box by contacting us on 0345 454 1111 (or call 150 from a Virgin Media phone).

Who will win the UEFA Women’s Champions League final?

Barcelona’s star midfielder Aitana Bonmatí in action. Watch the UEFA Women’s Champions League final on CH 100.

Arsenal produced perhaps their best performance for years in the semi-final second leg in Lyon, turning around a first-leg deficit in style with a magnificent 4-1 win against talented and experienced opponents. Coach Renée Slegers got her tactics spot-on, and Lyon couldn’t stop Mariona Caldentey, Alessia Russo and Caitlin Foord adding to an early own goal as every Arsenal player hit their absolute top level in a victory for the ages. And now they’ve got to do it all over again.

Perhaps the only opponents more intimidating than Lyon are Barcelona, who swept imperiously past Chelsea in the semis, scoring four goals both home and away. The WSL champions simply couldn’t cope with the penetrating creativity of Aitana Bonmatí and co. But as well as talent, what they’ll bring to Lisbon’s Estádio José Alvalade is aura: three Champions Leagues in four years, four Ballons d’Or (they had all the top three players in last year’s list), nine Liga F titles… You have to beat their reputation before you can beat the team.

It’s going to be tough for the Gunners. But in the canny Slegers, Arsenal have a coach who’s ready to take on anyone – not to mention a brilliant squad packed with internationals, including England’s Beth Mead, Leah Williamson, Chloe Kelly and WSL Golden Boot winner Russo, and combative Ireland captain Katie McCabe.
