Whether you’ve got our latest Stream box – our best ever TV experience on our smallest ever box – or Virgin TV 360, both are packed with brilliant features, so you can get to what you want to watch, faster, and watch it where and when you want.

We want to make sure you’re using Virgin TV to its full potential, so we’ve pulled together some of its coolest features. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been watching TV with us for years or you’re just getting started with a box fresh box scan down and discover something new.

Here are 6 cool features on your Virgin TV box you’re not using (but should).

1. Control your telly with your voice

Control your telly with your voice on your Virgin TV box.

Skip the faff, search with your voice and dive into great telly faster. Open apps, see recommendations, change channels or turn on accessibility settings like subtitles. Just hold the Mic button on your remote and tell your box what to do. Try saying:

  • “iPlayer” to go to BBC iPlayer

  • “TNT Sports” to go to TNT Sports 1 HD

  • “Reality” to find reality TV shows

  • “Watchlist” to go to your My Watchlist

  • “Subtitles on” to switch on subtitles

  • “Stephen Graham” to find movies and TV shows featuring Stephen Graham

  • Gogglebox” to find available episodes of Gogglebox

It’s a breeze to search and spot programmes across live TV, shows and movies – perfect when you want to find something in a pinch. Play around: there might even be a few surprises hidden in there…

2. Make the most of your personal home screen

Discover your next favourite show with your Virgin TV box.

Your telly journey starts at your personal home screen. Dive straight into all the shows, movies and apps you love, with recommendations tailored just for you. So, grab your remote, press Home and get started.

  • Not sure what to watch? Top Picks shows you the biggest titles, or let Recommended for You suggest something based on your profile.

  • Want to pick up where you left off? Head to Continue Watching to find the shows you’ve been enjoying. And if you’ve rented a movie, it’s right here too.

  • Find new favourites in Your Most Watched Channels, which shows what’s playing live on the channels you watch the most, or Streaming Channels for always-on content from a wide range of genres that you can jump into any time.

  • On Stream, use My Watchlist to save your personal picks to enjoy later, all in one

    place – no recording needed.

3. Create your own space with Profiles

Create your own space with Profiles on your Virgin TV box.

With Profiles on Virgin Media TV, available on every Virgin TV box as well on the Virgin TV Go app, your TV experience is totally yours. And with six profiles up for grabs, everyone in the household has a space to make their own. Sign in to carry on watching where you left off, skip right to your favourite channels, and create your own channel list containing your personal favourite channels.

  1. Press the Profiles button on the side of the remote.

  2. From here, you can select your Profile or add a new one by scrolling to New.

  3. To switch into another Profile, simply hit the Profiles button again and select a different Profile.

Remember, your personalised recommendations aren’t affected by what the rest of the family watches, so you get straight to the TV you actually like (handy when the little ones have been watching the same show on repeat for the past six months).

Obviously, some TV is better enjoyed together. So, with a shared household profile, you’re only a few taps from the telly you love staying in for.

4. Reverse time with Startover

Reverse time with Startover on your Virgin TV box.

Need to nip out or grab a quick cuppa? With pause, rewind and Startover, Virgin TV lets you make your own TV schedule. And it’s as easy as a click of a button – or just telling your box what to do. You can skip back to the beginning of shows on most channels. Here’s all you need to do:

  1. Press the Guide button on the remote, or press the Home button and navigate to Guide, or hold the mic button and say “guide”.

  2. Navigate to a programme. If it has the white Startover symbol, it’s available.

  3. Select it, and the programme or movie will offer the option to watch live or begin from the start.

You can use the Guide to catch up on shows aired in the last seven days. Or watch your faves up to 30 days after they’ve aired under TV Shows and Movies.

5. Set your TV free with Virgin TV Go

Set your TV free with Virgin TV Go on your Virgin TV box.

Stream your socks off on your tablet or mobile, in any room of your home or on the go, with our free Virgin TV Go app. Now it’s simple to control and manage your TV experience from one app. And with out-of-home streaming and downloads, nowhere is off limits. Welcome to TV that takes you places – wherever your place is. Here’s what Virgin TV Go offers.

6. Tag your must-see shows with My Watchlist

Tag your must-see shows with My Watchlist on your Virgin TV box.

If you’re a Stream user, you can save your favourite TV shows and movies to watch later, and see when new episodes land, all in one place with My Watchlist – no recording needed. Just bookmark episodes or series from the TV guide and apps, so you’re never short of telly to get stuck into.

  1. Highlight the content you want to add to your My Watchlist page. This can be done in the TV Guide, in the TV shows and movies sections, your home screen or via voice search and control, and on the Virgin TV Go app.

  2. Press the Save button or use Voice search and control.
