Who will rule at the Bridge?

Who will rule at the Bridge?

Fifth play third in the Premier League, with Chelsea hosting Spurs in a mammoth clash live on Sky Sports

As the fight to finish in the top four intensifies, two fierce London rivals are ready to get it on

Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday 1 April, 3.30pm, Sky Sports Premier League/HD (CH 512/502)

Big-money transfer flops. A stodgy title defence. A manager whose future is uncertain. Yep, it’s not been the best of seasons for Chelsea.

To heap extra pressure on Antonio Conte’s men, they’re about to face their most pivotal Premier League match of the season. The Blues currently sit just outside the UEFA Champions League places, so a victory over one of their key rivals for a top-four finish is vital if they want to qualify for next season’s competition. Mind you, that’s not to say it’s been a campaign full of cheer for Spurs…

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were dramatically dumped out of the Champions League by Juventus in the first knockout round, and for the North Londoners – who have star striker Harry Kane missing through injury – this is a must-win game too. Lose it and they’ll go into the final, all-important stretch of the season with a reinvigorated Chelsea hot on their heels.

However this unmissable showdown plays out at the Bridge, it’s sure to be a truly tasty tie. Whether it’s the world-class talent on display for both teams, or the fact that Tottenham will be seeking revenge for the 2-1 defeat they suffered at home to Chelsea back in August, this is a fixture that’s guaranteed to bring drama, controversy and talking points.
