The EFL Championship is back!

The Championship is back!

We take a look at the players to watch as the 2019-20 season gets under way on Sky Sports

Look what’s back… back again. The Championship’s back… tell your friends…

EFL Championship: Luton Town v Middlesbrough, Friday 2 August, 7pm, Sky Sports Football/HD (CH 513/503)

Though the second tier of English football will forever be snubbed as being, well, just “the second tier”, the EFL Championship is, without question, the most competitive league in the country and, potentially, the world.

In no other league could a “team like Preston” be bottom in October, outside the play-offs just on goal difference in March, then finish the season in 14th. It’s a mad, mad world the Championship, as infuriating as it is brilliant – and we couldn’t be happier that it’s back.

In fact, we’re so overjoyed that we’ve assembled this bumper list of players to watch from every single club for this upcoming season.

We’d tell you what to expect before Luton and Middlesbrough kick off the season, but as past seasons have shown, literally anything is possible when it comes to “the second tier”…
