Who will be crowned Cup kings at Wembley?

As Chelsea and Leicester City clash at Wembley Stadium in the Emirates FA Cup final, live on BBC One and BT Sport, find out who has made our Combined XI

By Virgin TV Edit

If we were to describe this season’s Emirates FA Cup final in a single word, that word would most definitely be ooof.

This year’s grand showdown at Wembley is properly intriguing, as eight-time winners Chelsea take on a club looking to win the competition for the very first time, in the shape of Leicester City.

Chelsea, who lost last year’s final to Arsenal, have gone from strength to strength since replacing Frank Lampard with Thomas Tuchel in the dugout earlier this season. Not only have they reached a fifteenth FA Cup final, they’ve also made it through to the UEFA Champions League final to boot.

With their blend of home-grown talent and international superstars, the Blues could end the season with a remarkable double to their name. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, because they first have to get past some very wily Foxes.

Leicester have looked rejuvenated this season under manager Brendan Rodgers, playing smart, attacking football that has yielded some huge results. With UEFA Champions League qualification almost secured, getting their hands on the FA Cup would cap an incredible campaign for a team bursting with exciting talent.

When it comes to FA Cup final appearances, however, Leicester’s record makes even Alan Shearer’s look mildly respectable. The club has lost all four finals they’ve appeared in so far (including three defeats in the 1960s), though they have a while to go before they beat Everton’s unenviable record of eight losses.

As one-off encounters go, this one really could go either way. But what’s for certain is that both Chelsea and Leicester have an abundance of players capable of lighting up the big occasion. Take a look below to see who’s made our Emirates FA Cup final dream team…
