Warrington Wolves and Catalans Dragons go head to head in the Challenge Cup Final
The stage is set for an unmissable showdown at Wembley Stadium
Rugby League: Challenge Cup Final, Saturday 25 August, 2pm, BBC One/HD (CH 101/108)
If you are looking for rugby league’s most historic and respected competition, look no further than the mighty Challenge Cup.
Established in 1896, this particular piece of silverware is the one that every club wants to win. That includes Warrington Wolves and Catalans Dragons, who square off at Wembley Stadium this weekend in the cup final, which you can watch live on BBC One.
Having won the Challenge Cup eight times, this is a tournament the Wolves love sinking their teeth into. Coached by Steve Price, Warrington mauled Leeds Rhinos 48-12 in the semi-finals and are the favourites to win the competition.
But sport has a funny knack of ignoring the script. Just ask Catalans Dragons.

The French club stunned St Helens 35-16 in the semis, and now Steve McNamara’s men are vying to get their hands on the trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
Mind you, they’ve been here before. The Dragons made it all the way to the final in 2007, but ultimately fell short, losing to the Saints in a one-sided clash.
So what’s it going to be? Will the Wolves find themselves on cloud nine come the final whistle at Wembley Stadium? Or is there one final twist to be had in this season’s competition? Follow all of the action live on BBC One this weekend to find out.
