Roll up! Roll up! Get your front-row seat for the greatest sporting spectacle in the world!

We’re talking about Super Bowl LV, which will be thrashed out live on the BBC and Sky Sports by the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The venue? The Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

This year’s showdown, which is set to have around 22,000 fans in attendance amid coronavirus restrictions, is all about the battle of the quarterbacks.

In one corner you’ve got the living legend that is Tom Brady. Now 43 years of age, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star has already won more Super Bowls than any other player in history following his illustrious tenure with the New England Patriots. But now he’s got his eyes on a seventh ring with the franchise he joined at the start of the season.

The Buccaneers have never played the Super Bowl, but is their debut appearance – and a record tenth for Brady – about to be ruined by one of the sport’s hottest young stars?

Going up against Brady is Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who inspired his team to their first ever championship last season. Just 25 years old, Mahomes is undoubtedly destined for greatness in the ultracompetitive world of American football. The question is, can he surpass Brady’s astonishing achievements?

Experience versus youth. The present versus the future. Brady and Mahomes represent an intergenerational tussle for sporting glory like few others. Ahead of the big kick-off, here’s how their careers line up so far…
