Want to know about some of the best shows, movies and sport you can watch on Prime Video on Virgin TV? Here’s just some of our picks…

The Boys

Find seasons 1-3 in Apps > Prime Video

Season 4 of this hit show is expected to drop later this year. But until then, you can catch up on the action so far. The Boys explores what happens when superheroes behave badly – and follows the people who want to stop them. Revenge-obsessed Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) leads the fightback alongside milder-mannered Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid), while last year’s season 3 introduced Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) in a very memorable role. The most recent run might be the most outrageous so far and, if you’ve seen it, you’ll understand why we can’t include a trailer for it...

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Find season 1 in Apps > Prime Video

The 2005 film of the same name has got a modern serialised reimaging from creative powerhouses Francesca Sloane and Donald Glover, who worked together on the superlative weirdcom Atlanta. Glover stars alongside Maya Erskine (PEN15) as the titular couple, two spies who have been paired to pose as a married couple while completing a series of deadly missions. What could possibly go wrong?

Saltburn

Find it in Apps > Prime Video

In one of 2023’s most talked-about movies, film-maker Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman) brings us a wicked tale of privilege and desire that’s not for the squeamish. It has a top-tier cast, including a memorable performance from Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl). But the film’s MVP is Barry Keoghan (The Banshees Of Inisherin) as the student who finds himself in a dizzying whirl after being invited to his friend’s sprawling family estate.

Expats

Find season 1 in Apps > Prime Video

It only dropped in January 2024, but Expats has already been a big critical hit for Prime Video led by a peerless central performance by Academy Award- and Emmy-winning Nicole Kidman. Set against the complex tapestry of Hong Kong residents in 2014, this six-part limited series depicts a multifaceted group of women after a single encounter sets off a chain of life-altering events that leaves everyone navigating the intricate balance between blame and accountability.

This Is Me… Now: A Love Story

Find it in Apps > Prime Video from Friday 16 February

Described as coming from the heart, soul and dreams of Jennifer Lopez – and dropped in tandem alongside her first studio album in a more than a decade – This Is Me… Now (also the name of her new album) tells the story of Lopez’s journey to love through her own eyes. This genre-bending Amazon original blends fantastical costumes, breath-taking choreography and star-studded cameos (including a certain Mr Ben Affleck). It’s sure to be a musical extravaganza unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Reacher

Find season 1-2 in Apps > Prime Video

Alan Ritchson steps into the mighty, mighty frame of one of the most popular fictional characters of all time, created by prolific novelist Lee Child. In season 1, veteran military police investigator Jack Reacher was falsely accused of murder and needed all his skills to uncover the truth. Season 2 sees Reacher called after a member of the 110th – an elite group of Army Special Investigators he once led – has been murdered. He must use all his brains and brawn to get to the bottom of the case. Season 3 has also just been announced.

The Grand Tour

Find it in Apps > Prime Video from Friday 16 February

Clarkson, Hammond and May are back for their latest special in the isolated African country of Mauritania, following in the tyre tracks of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally. But it would be too easy to tackle the killer Sahara and risky river crossings in bespoke Dakar racers. Instead, they must complete their journey in cheap modified sports cars. With baking temperatures and demanding sand terrain, they’ve got their work cut out.

Ricky Stanicky

Find it in Apps > Prime Video from Thursday 7 March

Zac Efron and John Cena are two of the best comedy actors working in movies right now. Ricky Stanicky teams them up in this hilarious tale of three childhood pals who invent an imaginary friend to get them out of trouble. The problem is, they’re still pulling that same trick 20 years later, and now their families want to meet “Ricky”. Enter Rod (Cena), a washed-up actor they hire to play him. But will they regret it? Spoiler: yes, they will.

American Fiction

Find it in Apps > Prime Video from Friday 8 March

Described by critics as this year’s “buzziest comedy”, American Fiction is a razor-sharp satire about the publishing industry’s obsession with stereotypical “Black” stories. Jeffrey Wright (Boardwalk Empire) plays a frustrated novelist who is fed up with those books and, to prove a point, writes an outlandish “Black” book of his own, featuring all the tired and offensive tropes he has railed against. But then the unthinkable happens: it’s a success…

Road House

Find it in Apps > Prime Video from Thursday 21 March

The Patrick Swayze 80s cult classic is reimagined by The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman. Jake Gyllenhaal’s Elwood Dalton is ex-UFC fighter (and has the washboard abs that go with the territory) who takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse. But Dalton soon discovers that, far from a beachside paradise, this bar is not all it seems. Real-life ex-UFC champion Conor McGregor also stars.
