2022 Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards: all the winners!

By Simon Ward, Content Editor

What. A. Night. Bringing you closer to the shows, series and stars you love is what we do best, and this year’s Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards was a true testament to that with an incredible Sunday night that celebrated every TV fan among us, and the diversity that makes Great British TV so special.

This year’s ceremony at Royal Festival Hall – the first at the iconic London venue since 2019 – brought TV’s biggest talent under one roof for a night of drama, incredible speeches and heart-warming moments. Not only that, as official sponsors, we rolled out the red carpet and invited our customers to join us with lucky winners getting the full VIP treatment.

They were there because they voted for Virgin Media’s Must-See Moment of 2021, the only award at the Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards to be voted for by the public. After thousands of votes were counted, the nation chose Strictly Come Dancing – Rose and Giovanni’s silent dance to Symphony as their Must-See Moment.

Other big winners on the night included Sean Bean who bagged Leading Actor for Time and Matthew MacFayden took home Supporting Actor for Succession. Big Zuu, meanwhile, picked up two BAFTAs for Big Zuu’s Big Eats, while Jodie Commer won Leading Actress and Cathy Tyson won Supporting Actress for Help.

Take a look at the highlights from the Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards below, and then read on to find out more about the fanciest night in British TV.

If you didn’t catch the ceremony, you can watch the whole thing in Apps & Games > BBC iPlayer right now!
