Diss time it’s personal with all new Roast Battle

Celebrate with some classic TV insults as more comedians get fired up on Comedy Central

Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan return with a new guest judge for one of Comedy Central’s hottest hits…

Roast Battle, Monday 1 October, 10pm, Comedy Central/HD (CH 132/181). Also available for 7 days in Catch Up > Channels > Comedy Central

It’s the show where insults are ingenious. Where barbs are things of beauty. Where roasting is not just for Sunday lunch. Yes, Roast Battle is back for a brand spanking new series on Comedy Central, with all five episodes showing on consecutive nights from Monday.

The format is simple: two comedians go head to head on stage, trading the most brutal put-downs that they can think of. Taste? Decency? You won’t find any of that here – this is all about landing as many hilarious zingers as possible on your opponent.

Then it’s up to hosts Jimmy Carr, Katherine Ryan and brand new guest judge Jonathan Ross (who knows a thing or two about quick-witted jibes) to tot up the scores and decide who has come out on top after the dust has settled.

Stepping up to the plate in this series are the likes of Chris Ramsey, Mark Watson, Phil Wang and newly crowned Edinburgh Festival comedy award winner Rose Matafeo – but do they have what it takes to deliver the decisive diss?

Before that question is answered, get yourself in the mood for series 2 of Roast Battle by checking out some of the finest insults ever heard on telly...
