Venture east with The LEGO Ninjago Movie

The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Available from 28 July in Sky Cinema on demand. Cert U. Also available in HD

If it’s an easterly, action-packed animated comedy you’re after, then the latest instalment in The LEGO Movie franchise might just tick all your boxes. Set in the mystical city of Ninjago, the story follows young Lloyd Garmadon (voiced by The Disaster Artist’s Dave Franco) as he takes on his father, the infamous dark ninja, Lord Garmadon (Justin Theroux, The Girl On The Train), who’s intent on destroying the aforementioned city of bricks.

Go west with Ingrid Goes West

Available from 29 July in Sky Cinema on demand. Cert 15. Also available in HD

Aubrey Plaza (Parks And Recreation) shines in this darkly comic tale, in which a down-and-out woman heads to Los Angeles to befriend the social media star she’s stalking online. Elizabeth Olsen (Avengers: Infinity War) and Straight Outta Compton’s O’Shea Jackson Jr also star, and their flawless comedic timing only adds to the already surreal, sinister and hilarious atmosphere. If you feel like social media and its proponents need taking down a peg or two, you’ll love co-writer/director Matt Spicer’s witty and no-holds-barred take on its far-reaching effects.

Get lost with The Mountain Between Us

Available from 27 July in Sky Cinema on demand. Cert 12. Also available in HD

Based on Charles Martin’s best-selling novel of the same name, Idris Elba and Kate Winslet star as two strangers who become stranded in the wilderness with nothing but each other to depend on. Filled with scenery as dangerous as it is breathtaking, it’s another emotional rollercoaster from Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad that takes hold of you and doesn’t let go.
