With loads of awesome kids movies available for less, make this half-term a break to remember
The House With A Clock In Its Walls
Jack Black has made a very welcome addition to family-friendly fare in recent years, following the surprise hit Goosebumps. Like that movie, this tale, set in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart, is a blend of big laughs and suitably-sized scares. Alongside Black is two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett. You’ll be as safe as houses with this one.
Shaun The Sheep Movie
When the boss at Shaun’s farm is accidentally transported to a nearby city, everyone’s favourite woolly rascal sets off on a rescue mission with the rest of the flock in tow. Cue absolute pandemonium as the gang soon realise they’ve bitten off more than they can chew. But does Shaun have what it takes to get the farmer and his buddies home safely?
The LEGO Movie
With the much-anticipated sequel out in cinemas from 8 February, see where it all began in this all-out box office smash. When a maniacal tyrant threatens to wreak havoc on the universe, an ordinary LEGO construction worker (voiced by Christ Pratt) is tasked with saving the world. With an all-star voice cast that includes Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman, this is one awesome animated adventure you won’t forget in a hurry.
The LEGO Batman Movie
This superhero-themed spin-off sees the Caped Crusader (Will Arnett) do battle against Gotham City’s bad guys. And as if that’s not enough to keep him busy, a teenage orphan he accidentally adopted wants to be his sidekick. Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Ralph Fiennes and even Mariah Carey are among the A-list voice talent in this epic animated comedy.
Tad The Lost Explorer And The Secret Of King Midas
With some distinct Indiana Jones vibes, this rip-roaring sequel to 2012’s Tad The Lost Explorer follows the titular construction worker as he attempts to solve an intriguing mystery involving King Midas. But with an archaeologist love interest and a mummified assistant along for the ride, this adventure will be anything but easy.
With dreams of becoming a ballerina, orphan Félicie (Elle Fanning) leaves her home for the bright lights of Paris, where she manages to enrol at the Grand Opera House by assuming someone else’s identity. Can she keep up the façade? Or will she come pirouetting back down to Earth? Featuring the voices of Dane DeHaan and Carly Rae Jepsen, this charming musical comedy will leave you twirling with delight.
