It’s an epic August on Prime Video
Crime drama Capone, starring Tom Hardy as the legendary gangster, headlines a brilliant month of films and shows
By Virgin TV Edit
August is packed with awesomeness of Prime Video, thanks to a stunning selection of blazing blockbusters, must-watch dramas and much, much more.
Topping the bill is Capone, which drops on the streaming service on Monday 10 August. Tom Hardy goes full Tom Hardy in this biopic about Al Capone’s troubled later years, playing the role of the notorious gangster with the kind of all-or-nothing commitment that only he can pull off. In short, he’s terrifying.
Having been released from prison after a decade and now living in Florida, the 47-year-old Capone begins to suffer a severe mental decline due in part to dementia. Experiencing hallucinations relating to his violent past as the number one mobster in Chicago, Capone also has the feds on his case as he tries to remember where he hid $10 million before he was sent to jail.
Like gritty crime dramas? Then you’ll love Capone. But it’s not the only thing to keep an eye on this August on Prime Video. Here are some of the other unmissable movies and series arriving this month...
