This expertly crafted Civil War drama comes from Lost In Translation writer/director Sofia Coppola. Tensions rise in Virginia when wounded Union soldier John McBurney (In Bruges’s Colin Farrell) is taken in and tended to by headmistress Miss Farnsworth (Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies), teacher Miss Morrow (Kirsten Dunst, Spider-Man) and pupil Alicia (Elle Fanning, Maleficent). All three vie for his affections as Confederate soldiers close in.
