Zack Snyder’s Justice League on Sky Cinema

Justice is finally served, as director Zack Snyder’s unique vision of the superhero blockbuster heads to British telly

By Virgin TV Edit

If you are one of the millions of fans worldwide who have been waiting patiently for the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League then this is a very special week for you.

At long last, the superhero blockbuster is being unleashed on audiences across the globe – and you can watch it from 7am on Thursday 18 March on Sky Cinema Premiere HD (CH 401), in Sky Cinema on demand and on the Virgin TV Go app.

The 2017 theatrical release of Justice League (which told the story of the alliance between some of DC Comics’ most iconic characters) was a mixture of scenes shot by original director Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon, who completed the project after Snyder departed following the tragic death of his daughter.

Once the original film hit cinemas, rumours started that there was an extended cut of the film, referred to as the “Snyder Cut”. This sent fans into overdrive, culminating in the online #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement. Cast members, including Jason Mamoa, Ciarán Hinds and Ray Fisher, also pushed for the release of the mythical movie, which was understood to be more faithful to Snyder’s original vision.

Fast forward to 2019 and Snyder eventually confirmed his cut of the film did exist. After much back and forth between Snyder and Warner Bros over its potential release, it can now be viewed by audiences for the first time.

At over four hours long, Zack Snyder’s Justice League is a denser, richer imagining of the blockbuster. It’s also received far better reviews than the original release, with critics praising its quality storytelling, high-octane action and big heart. Grab the popcorn – it’s time to get blown away by one of the most anticipated films in recent memory.
