Are you a Manchester derby master?

Before the big kick-off on Sky Sports Premier League, test your knowledge of this raucous rivalry

Star squads, intensely loyal fans, coveted bragging rights… this is a clash that always makes for an unmissable 90 minutes of action (or 95 minutes when Fergie was in charge)

Manchester United v Manchester City, Wednesday 24 April, 7pm, Sky Sports Premier League/HD (CH 512/502)

Winning the Premier League is rarely straightforward. With the end of the season now in sight, Manchester City’s road to glory could hit an almighty bump later this month when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford, live on Sky Sports.

It’s the biggest challenge City are likely to face in the title run-in and might even define their season. The Blues are in pole position to clinch a second consecutive Premier League trophy, but a slip against their local rivals would be about as welcome as Mick Hucknall fronting an Oasis reunion.

Pep Guardiola’s title chasers were mad for it when the teams met at the Etihad back in November, as the Blues crushed their neighbours 3-1 in an extremely one-sided encounter. But that was then. With José Mourinho’s reign of terror a distant memory now that Ole Gunnar Solskjær is in permanent charge, United are a far more dangerous proposition.

The Red Devils remain in the hunt for the top four and will be looking to give their chances of UEFA Champions League qualification a shot in the arm when the champions arrive at the Theatre of Dreams. What’s more, United would absolutely love to derail City’s title bid – so long as it doesn’t mean gifting the trophy to Liverpool.

With a rich history packed with heroes, villains, drama and controversy, the Manchester derby remains one of English football’s biggest fixtures. But how much do you know about the iconic rivalry between United and City? Find out right now by taking our quiz below.
