It was an epic weekend of action in the Premier League that featured more than its share of shocks, surprises and screamers, but what were the moments that really stood out?

Read on for our round-up of the best of the action…

1. Result of the weekend

Manchester United 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur

Not even the most optimistic Spurs fan could have predicted such an emphatic triumph for their team at Old Trafford. Sure, United are on the rocks right now, but a 3-0 away victory for Tottenham proved that they are definitely ones to watch in this season’s title race.

2. Goal of the weekend

Jean Michaël Seri (Fulham) v Burnley

There’s something about a 25-yard belter that’s always satisfying. Fulham’s big-money summer signing Jean Michaël Seri opened his Premier League account in style on Saturday when he lashed the ball past Joe Hart to set his side on their way to a first win of the season. Oof.

3. Performance of the weekend

Theo Walcott scoring for Everton against Bournemouth

Theo Walcott (Everton) v Bournemouth

Everton’s fleet-footed winger turned back the clock with a devastating display against the Cherries. Walcott opened the scoring with a fine angled strike, before his pace unsettled defender Adam Smith so much that he pulled him down and got sent off. Could an England recall beckon?

4. Manager of the weekend

Javi Gracia (Watford)

It’s now three wins from three games for Watford after Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Javi Gracia has got the Hornets playing the kind of cavalier football that’s risky – but can also reap big rewards. Next up in the Premier League: a home match against Tottenham…

5. Meltdown of the weekend

José frustrated during loss to Tottenham at Old Trafford

José Mourinho (Manchester United) v Tottenham Hotspur

Was José Mourinho going to go quietly into the night following United’s 3-0 loss to Spurs? Was he heck. After angrily pointing out how many Premier League titles he has won, he stormed out of his post-match press conference demanding respect from the media. Someone give that man a stress ball.
