Each week, Grylls will be joined by a famous face for a survival expedition like no other. Remind me, what’s the show about?

Running Wild With Bear Grylls is all about survival under pressure. Each episode sees Grylls and a celebrity head out to an extreme location, where they must pass tough physical tests, handle mental stress and do whatever it takes to come out the other side in one piece.

Who’s taking part this year?

Bear Grylls and actor Rainn Wilson in Running Wild

The brave celebs stepping up to the plate are Hollywood star Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Endgame), TV hardman Terry Crews, Rainn Wilson (aka The Office’s Dwight Schrute) and Emmy-winning actor Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele). But that’s not all, because veteran tough guy Danny Trejo (Machete), pioneering ex-racing driver Danica Patrick and TV personality Bobby Bones and fiancée Caitlin Parker will also be along for the ride.

Where are they heading?

Wherever there is danger, that’s where you’ll find Bear Grylls and his latest protegé. Highlights include the raw beauty (and freezing conditions) of Italy’s Dolomite Mountains, the lava fields of Iceland and the epic sandstone cliffs of the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. They all look stunning. And they’re all fraught with danger.

Who’s featured on the show before?

Only the biggest names in showbiz. From Kate Winslet and Channing Tatum to Julia Roberts, Roger Federer, Kate Hudson and Michael B Jordan, Mr Grylls’ address book must be worth its weight in gold. Oh, and did we mention former US President Barack Obama even appeared in a special episode? Now that’s what we call a special guest.

What does Bear Grylls have to say about it?

“I know the power in life of never giving up, and this newest season tested that in spades. In each of these tough, unforgiving environments, from deserts to high mountains, we see these stars share some incredibly intimate and honest moments. To be part of that is a powerful inspiration – and that is so needed right now.”
