RuPaul’s Drag Race is a television institution and has been inspiring and bewildering viewers in equal measure since the first season aired ten years ago. But just what is it about the drag-act talent show/fashion design/modelling mash-up that has such enduring – and wide – appeal?

 

We’ve left that to self-confessed Drag Race obsessives (and incredible drag artists in their own right) Kitty Scott Claus and Ophelia Love to answer. The London-based queens have known each other since school and now perform in drag tribute acts together and host The Tea Bag, a weekly Drag Race recap show on YouTube.
