By Virgin Media Edit

It’s official, school’s out for the summer! And as usual, next comes trying to keep the little ones entertained for the next six weeks. Thankfully, we’ve got you covered with new shows and on demand series.

Mush-Mush & The Mushables

Find it in On Demand > Kids

Who said there can’t be a little fun in fungi? In this delightful animation, we meet Mush-Mush and his best friends in the world, Lilit and Chep. Full of adventure, self-discovery and laughs, this sweet series is perfect for lazy afternoons.

Parental fun factor: The animation is beautiful, and the camaraderie between the characters should resonate well.

Extraordinary Me

Find it in On Demand > Kids

Get the kids inspired, with kids their own age. In this influential and encouraging series, we meet the miniature stars who are determined to get a head start in life. What might your little ones pick up?

Parental fun factor: The inspirational stories will warm the heart, no matter how old you are.

SpongeBob SquarePants

Find it in On Demand > Kids

You know him as the carefree, unwaveringly optimistic sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea. It’s of course SpongeBob, flanked as always by his pet sea snail, Gary, his inoffensive starfish best friend, Patrick, and his grumpy neighbour, Squidward.

Parental fun factor: Timeless entertainment that hasn’t changed all that much since the early 2000s. You’ll no doubt recognise a few bits… Krabby Patty anyone?

Alvinnn!!! And the Chipmunks

Find it in On Demand > Kids

The singing chipmunks are back, and alongside the mischievous brothers Alvin, Simon and Theodore are the Chipettes – Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor. In this musical, colourful CGI series, Alvin and the gang live with Dave, their adoptive, human father. And although Alvin sometimes gets in trouble, he’s always willing to offer his dad help when he needs it.

Parental fun factor: The show underlines the importance of kids helping their parents. Win-win ;)

Looney Tunes

Find it in On Demand > Kids

It’s the whole gang: Daffy Duck, Tweety Pie, Sylvester, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn, and Yosemite Sam, led as always by the legendary Bugs Bunny. Take the opportunity now to introduce the kids to the characters you know and love, before heading out to see the much-anticipated Space Jam sequel starring LeBron James.

Parental fun factor: Bonkers nostalgia if nothing else. That’s all, folks.

Monster Beach

Find it in On Demand > Kids from Monday 5 August

Surf’s up with Monster Beach, the story of a brother and sister who befriend a family of gnarly monsters while on summer vacation. In their various adventures with Mutt, Widget and Brain Freeze, they get up to all sorts, all the while keeping an eye out for the perfect wave.

Parental fun factor: The kids in the show adopt parental roles to the monsters, which we’re sure you could use to your advantage…

Adventure Time Distant Lands: Together Again Special

Find it in On Demand > Kids from Saturday 14 August

Jake the Dog and Finn the Human are on an adventure, just not the same one. After becoming separated, Jake is on a mission to find his loyal, shapeshifting dog, leading them both on an epic journey through distant lands.

Parental fun factor: The show is littered with innuendos only the grown-ups will understand.

Horrid Henry

Find it in On Demand > Kids

Horrid Henry is a family-based show, following the life of Henry, his parents, and his goodie-two-shoes little brother, Perfect Peter. Although Henry is a bit badly behaved, he and his friends always work together to overcome the everyday problems faced by eight-year-olds.

Parental fun factor: See how many similarities you can spot between the show’s characters and your kids’ quirky classmates.

PAW Patrol

Find it in On Demand > Kids

Adventure Bay is always safe with Ryder, a ten-year-old boy, and his pack of canine companions. Each of the six pups have special professional skills, including a firefighter, police officer and pilot, with all the necessary equipment kept in their “pup packs” to save the day.

Parental fun factor: Well, cute cartoon dogs for one. But it’ll also make you want to help your community.
