How to get a Virgin Media Hub router

As an existing customer, you should already have a Virgin Media router – new customers will also receive a new router automatically when they sign up to one of our broadband packages.

How to get a Hub upgrade

If you become a Gig1 Fibre Broadband customer customer, you have the option to upgrade your router to an even faster WiFi Hub, at no extra cost! Serving up average download speeds of over 1Gbps, it’s built to deliver incredible levels of speed and connectivity.

To request a Hub swap or upgrade, simply use the Virgin Media Connect app or sign in on the My Virgin Media app to find out if you’re eligible. You can also check eligibility using the link below.

The Hub 4 is available to all Gig1 Fibre broadband customers. It is a great improvement on the Hub 3, offering an ultra-fast 1Gbps service.

How to set up your Virgin Media Hub

If you’ve requested an upgrade, you’ll receive your new Virgin Media WiFi Hub in the post. From there, the setup is nice and simple:

1. Disconnect your old router

(Note: the coaxial cable will need to be unscrewed).

2. Connect the coaxial cable

Connect the coaxial cable to your new router and secure it with a spanner (this will be included when you receive your new router).

3. Connect the new router

Connect the new router to the mains power supply and plug it into the wall.

From there, you’ll be good to go! Your WiFi password, username and other details can be found printed on the underside of the router.

If you take a bundle with both Virgin Media and O2, you’ll have separate contracts and bills – one for Virgin Media, and another for O2.
