The omens are good for Liverpool

The omens are good for Liverpool

As the Reds face Fulham on Sky Sports Premier League, we pick out the similarities between this year and their last title-winning season

Here’s why royal babies, grey kits and a Manchester United resurgence are all good things for the Merseysiders…

Fulham v Liverpool, Sunday 17 March, 1.30pm, Sky Sports Premier League/HD (CH 512/502)

It’s been a long time since Liverpool won the league – 29 years, to be precise. In 1990, when they last finished on English football’s perch, the UK looked a lot different. A pint of milk cost 30 pence. Social media meant reading a newspaper in the park. Noel Edmonds was popular.

But lots of things from back then share surprising similarities with aspects of the cultural landscape today. So similar in fact, you can’t help but think that the hand of destiny might just be guiding Liverpool towards the Premier League title. (No, we haven’t lost our minds; this is actually going somewhere.)

As Jürgen Klopp’s side looks to take a step closer to the crown when they face Fulham on Sky Sports Premier League, we’ve picked out ten spookily identical occurrences from the past ten year that suggest Liverpool will be champions. Coincidence? Or are some things just meant to be? You decide.
