The Premier League title race is on!

The Premier League title race is on!

Manchester City and Liverpool are both in action over two unmissable nights on BT Sport

With two pivotal matches live on the box, the battle for the crown is about to intensify…

From Tuesday 29 January, 7.30pm, BT Sport 1 HD (CH 527)

Liverpool or City? City or Liverpool? The Premier League title race is just too close to call, but we could have a clearer picture as to who might get their hands on the trophy after two crucial clashes, live and exclusive on BT Sport.

Kicking things off on Tuesday evening is Manchester City’s trip to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United. The Blues boast a frankly ridiculous record against the Magpies, losing just one of their last 24 matches in all competitions. It’s also a record that’s seen City win their last three games against Newcastle, including a 2-1 victory at the Etihad at the start of the season.

All of which points to a textbook City steamrollering. But title races are rarely predictable. With the hosts scrapping for survival near the foot of the table – and with the wily Rafa Benítez still hanging around in the dugout – Newcastle and their raucous support may just have what it takes to make life difficult for City’s cavalcade of superstars on Tyneside.

Newcastle United v Manchester City

Once the dust has settled in the North East, Wednesday night’s big clash sees Liverpool host Leicester City in a game that has the potential to be packed with relentless attacking – so much so that you might need a neck brace come the final whistle.

With an uncompromising defence, a well-drilled midfield and a devastating front three, Jürgen Klopp’s title contenders have the look of champions. The question is, can they hold their nerve and go all the way now that we’re getting down to the nitty-gritty?

It won’t be easy for them against a Leicester side that has perfected the art of ruthless counter-attacking football. Having picked up eye-catching victories over Manchester City and Chelsea already this season, Claude Puel’s men won’t be pushovers when they go head to head against the Merseysiders.

Ready for the latest chapter in this compelling Premier League title race? It’s all set up to be an unmissable couple of nights of drama, and you can follow all of the action live and exclusive on BT Sport.
