Jaw-dropping action? Sky Sports has plenty of it – and we’ve picked out seven must-watch events

Don’t miss any of this epic entertainment heading your way live on Sky Sports…

Sky Sports round-up, from Friday 16 February

Fanatical about football? Crazy about cricket? Delirious about darts? We hear you. Nothing beats live sport on the box. And that’s just as well, because there’s absolutely loads of the good stuff coming up on Sky Sports that we can’t help shouting about.

Whether it’s the race for promotion to the Premier League, a crucial Twenty20 showdown between England and New Zealand, WWE wrestling, or some seriously A-list golfers battling it out in Florida, we’re here to get you bang up to speed on the best of the action.

But enough jabbering from us. You want to know what’s on, right? Take a look below at seven of our top picks and prepare to get very well acquainted with your sofa…

1. Widnes Vikings v Warrington Wolves

Friday 16 February, 7.30pm, Sky Sports Arena/HD (CH 518/508)

If you’ve been following the latest Super League season in rugby league, you’ll know that it’s been packed with drama, action and – most importantly – really big blokes battering each other in the name of entertainment. The campaign continues from the Select Security Stadium, where the Vikings ran out narrow 26-22 winners in this fixture last season. Expect the Wolves to be hungry for revenge.

2. New Zealand v England

Sunday 18 February, 5.30am, Sky Sports Cricket/HD (CH 514/504)

With a place in the 2018 Tri-Series Final up for grabs, England and New Zealand will be going all-out for victory when they collide in Hamilton. The unpredictability of Twenty20 cricket (not to mention the proven quality of both teams) makes this one difficult to call. What you should expect, though, are explosive batting displays, fierce spells of bowling, a frenzied crowd and bags of excitement. We can’t wait.

3. Premier League Darts

Michael van Gerwen

Thursday 22 February, 7pm, Sky Sports Action/HD (CH 517/507)

The tournament heads to Berlin for the first time, with 10,000 fans expected inside the city’s Mercedes-Benz Arena for a night of sharp-shooting action. Reigning champion Michael van Gerwen (above) will be up against Daryl Gurney, while world champion Rob Cross takes on Raymond van Barneveld. And with Simon Whitlock, Gary Anderson and Peter Wright also in the spotlight, it’s sure to be a fascinating evening of tungsten-based tussling.

4. Leeds United v Bristol City

Sunday 18 February, 4.15pm, Sky Sports Football/HD (CH 513/503)

Following their remarkable run to the Carabao Cup semi-finals, Bristol City now have their sights set firmly on promotion to the Premier League. The Robins currently occupy one of the play-off spots, and three points at Elland Road would give their cause an enormous boost. However, Leeds also have an eye on the top six, and beat Bristol 3-0 at Ashton Gate earlier this season.

5. WWE Late Night Smackdown

WWE superstar Charlotte Flair

Wednesday 21 February, 1am, Sky Sports Action/HD (CH 517/507)

Lights! Camera! Action! If it’s Spandex-based drama you’re after, look no further than this spectacular weekly offering from the WWE. You’ll find a whole host of superstars going head to head in the ring, including WWE Smackdown Women’s champion Charlotte Flair (above, left), recent Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE champion AJ Styles.

6. Norwich City v Ipswich Town

Sunday 18 February, 11.30am, Sky Sports Football/HD (CH 513/503)

El Clasico has nothing on this footballing rivalry. It’s usually a feisty affair when these East Anglian foes square off and this encounter at Carrow Road is likely to be no different. Both teams are still in with a chance of reaching the Sky Bet Championship playoffs, but a draw will do neither any favours. So, who’s going to seize the moment? Having gone nine games unbeaten against Ipswich, the smart money is on Norwich…

7. The Honda Classic

Continues Thursday 22 February, 2pm, Sky Sports Golf/HD (CH 515/505)

Rory McIlroy, Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell and 2017 PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas are just some of the top names heading to Palm Beach Gardens in Florida for this huge PGA Tour event. McIlroy in particular will be eager to get his hands back on the trophy (and a winners’ cheque of nearly $1.2m) after triumphing here in 2012.
