It’s official! BBC Three is back as a HD broadcast TV channel every night, meaning there’s even more for you to watch
By Virgin TV Edit
Launching on Tuesday 1 February is your new channel BBC Three – the brand-new home for the very best drama, comedy, entertainment, documentaries, news and sport.
Broadcasting every night from 7pm to 4am, the HD channel will feature hundreds of hours of newly commissioned shows, including Sally Rooney’s Conversations With Friends coming later this year, as well as returning favourites such as the second series of Rose Matafeo’s acclaimed Starstruck.
BBC Three has been behind some of the biggest shows of the past decade, including Normal People, Fleabag, This Country, People Just Do Nothing, The Rap Game UK, Famalam, Starstruck, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and Man Like Mobeen.
On launch night, as well as more treats soon to be announced, you’ll be able to watch the first ever RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK Versus The World as renowned queens from different franchises and cultures compete in an international arena showcasing their country’s finest drag in their bid to become the ultimate Drag Race Superstar.
Meanwhile, BBC Three’s first week on air will also host live football with both semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, with full match coverage fronted by Jermaine Jenas. All this is just for starters. And as with all BBC channels, if you miss anything on BBC Three, you can catch up later on BBC iPlayer.
To get BBC Three on Virgin Media, you don’t need to do a thing, because this all happened automatically. Simply point your remote to CH 107 if you are based in England or Northern Ireland, or CH 157 for customers in Wales or Scotland, and enjoy from 7pm every night of the week.
Channel changes and series recordings
With BBC Three launching on your telly box, other BBC channels are on the move to make it simpler for you to find them. If you have a Virgin TV 360 box this means you need to reset your BBC series recordings for BBC One HD, BBC One SD and BBC Four HD. Customers with a TiVo® box will not be affected. Luckily, it is super easy to reset a series recording, meaning you won’t miss out on your favourite shows. Click here to learn out how to do it and for more information about Series Link+.
