Safer Internet Day 2020

For young people, building an identity online can be both liberating and, at times, challenging. Offering children and young people the key tools to navigate so many influences and platforms can help keep their digital growth a healthy and positive experience.

Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 11 February aims to inspire a global conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively together for a better internet. We all have our roles to play to keep technology as a force for good, whether it’s as a parent, carer, family member, teacher or policymaker, to better manage the risks and harms that come with technology misuse.

This tenth Safer Internet Day is the perfect time to start that conversation to help young people to feel free to express themselves online and manage their online identity. And being armed with the right advice will put you ahead of the game when it comes to online safety.

Internet Matters provides guides for children of all ages, from their early years and toddling days (they’re bound to reach for a device sooner or later!) through to their teens. Find out all you need to know about how to get involved with Safer Internet Day here along with free expert, age-specific advice.
