Meet this season’s stunning new signings

Find out which guest presenters are filling in for James Corden in the new series of A League Of Their Own on Sky One

A slew of famous faces are lining up to sit in the hot seat as the popular comedy quiz show returns

A League Of Their Own, Thursday 15 August 9pm, Sky One/HD (CH 110/109). Also available for 30 days in Catch Up > Channels > Sky One

It’s fun, it’s silly, it’s packed with your favourite celebs, and most importantly, it’s back! Yes indeedy, A League Of Their Own is back for a 14th series on Sky One, but things are going to be a little bit different this time around.

Why? Because regular host James Corden’s schedule is rammed with such duties as hosting his US talk show and, more importantly, preparing the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special. But rest assured, dear Cordenites, he’ll still present two of the new episodes. Phew! Stepping into his shoes will be a series of guest hosts – and all but one are familiar faces on the show.

Don’t expect things to change too much without Corden around, though. Freddie Flintoff, Jamie Redknapp and Romesh Ranganathan will still be routinely humiliated as they contend with ridiculous sporting challenges, while actual sporting knowledge will continue to play very little part in the madness. Throw in contestants like King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp, England cricket legend James Anderson and former England international footballer Alex Scott (plus loads more) and you’ve got an unmissable new series.

So who’s going to be warming Corden’s seat while he’s gone? Here’s a quick rundown of all the guest hosts you can expect to see…

Amanda Holden

A League Of Their Own guest host Amanda Holden

We’re used to seeing her judging dodgy magicians and dancing dogs, but Amanda Holden’s latest gig might be her toughest yet – keeping the rowdy teams beside her in check.

David Walliams

Another Britain’s Got Talent alumnus, Walliams is already very familiar with the show, having appeared nine times as a panellist. Expect him to slip into the hosting chair very comfortably.

Jack Whitehall

A League Of Their Own guest host Jack Whitehall

Great news for everyone who misses seeing Whitehall on the regular panel (Freddie and Jamie included!) – he’s coming back as the boss! This is a reunion we can’t wait to see.

Clare Balding

If you needed someone to host a comedy sports panel show, Balding might just be the very first person you’d call. Corden better watch his back or she’ll nab the job off him!

Dina Asher-Smith

A League Of Their Own guest host Dina-Asher Smith

The only guest host without ALOTO experience, the 23-year-old British sprinter and Olympic medallist will bring some genuine sporting pedigree to the host’s chair. No offence, James.

Romesh Ranganathan

Ranganathan only became a regular panellist last series, but he’s already getting a shot at the big gig. Our prediction: complete and utter chaos. Not to be missed!
