Germany’s biggest game of the season

Germany’s biggest game of the season

Follow the action exclusively live on BT Sport, as Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich battle it out for Bundesliga supremacy

By Virgin TV Edit

Epic. Unmissable. Sehr gut. However you want to describe it, tonight’s clash between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich is not to be missed.

With both teams fighting it out for the title, the stakes couldn’t be higher when Der Klassiker kicks off live on BT Sport. And with every single Bundesliga match showing live on BT Sport for the rest of the season, don’t expect the excitement to end any time soon.

Want to know more about this evening’s must-watch tussle between two of Germany’s biggest hitters? Here’s the lowdown…

Is this really a title decider?

Bayern are currently four points clear of their rivals at the top of the table, so victory tonight would pretty much put one hand on the trophy with just six matches remaining. Should Dortmund record only their fourth league win against Munich in 13 attempts, the season will be blown wide open.

Revenge is on the cards for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund were given a rude awakening back in November, getting thrashed 4-0 by Bayern at the Allianz Arena. Since then, Lucien Favre’s men have got their act together, winning 12 of their last 16 league games. How they would love to make that 13 wins by toppling their rivals and setting up a titanic end to the season.

The Haaland factor

Dortmund may have got a Bavarian battering back in November, but it’s worth pointing out they didn’t have a certain Erling Braut Haaland playing for them then. The Norwegian joined the club from Red Bull Leipzig in January and is quickly turning into one of Europe’s most lethal strikers. If Bayern are to be beaten tonight, expect him to be at the heart of it.

Robert reigns supreme in Der Klassiker

When it comes to scoring goals in this fixture, one man stands head and shoulders above the rest. No player has found the net more times than former Dortmund striker and current Bayern marksman Robert Lewandowski (22 goals). You just know he’s going to have a say one way or another this evening.

A draw makes things even more interesting

What if the teams share the spoils this evening? Well, it means the title race could get even tastier. Red Bull Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Mönchengladbach are all in with a shout of being crowned champions – and all three clubs are in action on BT Sport following the final whistle in Dortmund. Fantastisch!
