Live football is back!

Live football is back!

The wait is over. Watch every single Bundesliga game this weekend – and for the rest of the season – live and exclusive on BT Sport

By Virgin TV Edit

It’s time to get the ball rolling (again). The beautiful game is back from Friday with no fewer than nine live Bundesliga matches to get stuck into exclusively live on BT Sport.

With so much still at stake for all the teams in Germany’s top flight, there will be no room for complaceny when it all kicks off again behind closed doors. It will also give us a first look at how top-flight football may look moving forward as leagues across the globe look to restart, including our own Premier League.

But what should you be looking out for when the action resumes? Check out these five talking points, before heading to the bottom of the page to find all of this weekend’s live fixtures…

Can Haaland keep Dortmund in the title race?

Borussia Dortmund v Schalke 04, Saturday 16 May, 2pm, BT Sport 1 HD (CH 527)

Having joined Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January, striker Erling Braut Haaland has scored 12 goals in 11 games for the team currently second in the Bundesliga table. The lad knows where the net is. Dortmund are currently four points behind leaders Bayern Munich, and they’ll need their master marksman at his sharpshooting best if they want to win a tricky Revierderby at home to Schalke 04.

Bayern must respect the Union

Union Berlin v Bayern Munich, Sunday 17 May, 4.45pm, BT Sport 1 HD (CH 527)

Despite sitting atop the Bundesliga table, champions Bayern Munich will know they can’t take their eye off the ball away to a team that has already beaten Borussia Dortmund on home soil this season. But let’s not kid ourselves. When you’ve got the league’s top scorer banging in goals for fun (that’s 25-goal striker Robert Lewandowski, in case you didn’t know), you don’t have to worry too much about upsets.

The relegation battle is about to hot up

Fortuna Düsseldorf v Paderborn, Saturday 16 May, 2.30pm, BT Sport Extra 2 HD

The fight to avoid the drop restarts with a bang this weekend, as bottom-placed Paderborn travel to fellow strugglers Fortuna Düsseldorf. This match is what’s known as your classic six-pointer, so expect tension, full-blooded challenges, and a dogged fight to the final whistle.

What next for Werner?

Red Bull Leipzig v Freiburg, Saturday 16 May, 2pm, BT Sport 2 HD (CH 528)

With 21 Bundesliga goals to his name this season, Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner is so hot right now. So hot in fact, both Chelsea and Liverpool reportedly want to sign him. In the meantime, Werner and his Leipzig teammates find themselves just five points behind Bayern Munich in the table. Victory over Freiburg this weekend is vital if they want to keep pace with the leaders.

There’s even more to come on BT Sport

Think this weekend’s feast of action is wunderbar? You ain’t seen nothing yet, because BT Sport will be showing every single Bundesliga game live between now and the rest of the season. Yes, you read that correctly. BT Sport will be showing the remainder of the campaign live, which means you don’t have to miss any of the drama from Deutschland.
