Comebacks, cheeky goals, dazzling individual displays… the Premier League fixtures had everything over the weekend. But what were the moments that properly grabbed the attention?
Read on for our round-up of the action…
1. Result of the weekend
Manchester United 3-2 Newcastle United
The most dramatic 90 minutes of Premier League football this season? Quite possibly. José Mourinho was on the brink at Old Trafford on Saturday, as a shambolic display from the Red Devils saw them 2-0 down with 20 minutes to play. Then everything changed. Goals from Juan Mata and Anthony Martial brought United level, before a late winner from Alexis Sanchez kept the Portuguese from being handed his P45. For now.
2. Goal of the weekend

Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) v Fulham
Long-range screamers are always a good thing. However, you have to take your hat off when someone scores a goal with an extra bit of invention. After a flowing one-touch build-up, substitute Ramsey netted audaciously during Arsenal’s 5-1 hammering of Fulham, flicking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s cross into the net. Clever boy.
3. Performance of the weekend
Ross Barkley (Chelsea) v Southampton
Remember Ross Barkley? He was the wonderkid who left Everton for Chelsea in January for £15 million and then… vanished. He’s been pretty much non-existent during his brief time at Stamford Bridge, but he found his feet on Saturday with a stellar display that guided the Blues to a 3-0 win at St Mary’s Stadium. Barkley scored one and created another as Chelsea continued their unbeaten start to the campaign.
4. Manager of the weekend

Eddie Howe (Bournemouth)
Yes, that’s right. Bournemouth are sixth in the Premier League table. It was another sweet weekend for the Cherries, as they dismantled ten-man Watford with a 4-0 win at Vicarage Road. Howe looks to have found the perfect formula this season, with his side mixing rugged defensive work and blistering attacking play to great effect.
5. Howler of the weekend
Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) v Liverpool
Think scoring from 12 yards with no defenders around you is easy? Apparently not. City’s £60million man Mahrez had a glorious chance to win the game at Anfield on Sunday – and edge the champions clear of their nearest rivals at the top of the table – when he stepped up to take a penalty with five minutes remaining. It’s thought the ball will land back on Earth some time next week.
