Follow all the action as amateurs and pros assemble in London for a weekend of pedal-powered fun

As more than 100,000 cyclists prepare to hit the (empty) streets of London, get up to speed on the latest edition of the famed cycling festival

RideLondon 2019, Saturday 3 August & Sunday 4 August, BBC

It’s no secret we’re a nation of bike lovers. Show us a picture of Bradley Wiggins in Lycra shorts and we’re guaranteed to go weak at the knees. So what better way to get your fix of cycling on the box than by tuning into RideLondon this weekend?

Billed as “the world’s greatest festival of cycling”, both amateur and professional riders alike will race their way around the capital and beyond (that means Surrey), with the best of the saddle-tastic action broadcast live on the BBC – you can watch it across BBC One, BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and the red button.

Now in its seventh year, RideLondon kicks off on Saturday with the RideLondon Classique, which sees the world’s top female cyclists go head to head across the streets of the capital before finishing with an intense sprint at The Mall.

The weekend continues with Prudential RideLondon on Sunday, which features the inspiring stories of some of the 100,000 amateur riders raising money for good causes. Then it’s all about the Surrey Classic, where a host of top names from the world of men’s cycling will duke it out. Britain’s biggest one-day bike race, this 169-kilometre battle for glory starts and ends in central London, with five laps of Surrey’s iconic (not to mention gruelling) Box Hill thrown in for good measure.
