It’s a kind of magic!

The biggest rugby league teams in Europe are all in action over the sport’s Magic Weekend. We run down the big numbers ahead of this huge event

By Chris Miller, Writer

Get ready for two full days of hard-tackling, fast-running, explosive rugby league action. Yes, the Magic Weekend is returning for its 2022 edition!

Starting on Saturday afternoon and taking you all the way through to Sunday evening, all the biggest stars of the Betfred Super League will be in action as all the 12 teams take to the field at St James’ Park in Newcastle for what’s become the sport’s biggest showcase in the northern hemisphere.

The format, which uses last season’s table to pit first against third, second against fourth and so on, has thrown up some fantastic fixtures this year. That includes two huge derbies between St Helens and Wigan Warriors on Saturday and the Hull clubs on Sunday. Fans can look forward to a brilliant atmosphere and some superb rugby – and you can enjoy it all live on Sky Sports.

Remember, you can follow the action on Sky Sports wherever you are in the UK, as long as there’s WiFi, 3G or 4G, thanks to Virgin TV Go.
