An unmissable heavyweight title clash headlines UFC International Fight Week
Who will be crowned champion when two of the sport’s greatest fighters go head to head in Las Vegas?
UFC 226: Miocic v Cormier, Sunday 8 July, 3am, BT Sport 2/HD (CH 532/528)
International Fight Week is the jewel in the crown for the UFC, and this year’s celebration of uppercuts, kicks and takedowns is headlined by the seismic showdown between defending heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and challenger Daniel Cormier at UFC 226.
Put simply, this is a fight between two of the greatest MMA stars of all time. Croatian-American Miocic – champion since 2016 and holder of the UFC record for most consecutive heavyweight title defences – is the favourite, but if anyone can take his coveted crown, it’s Cormier.

Cormier has lost just once in his ten-year career, making him feared and respected in equal measure. And if the American does manage to topple Miocic, he will become just the second fighter in UFC history to hold two championship belts simultaneously (he’s already in possession of the light heavyweight belt).
Also on the mouth-watering bill in Sin City is a heavyweight tussle between Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis, Michael Chiesa versus Anthony Pettis, and more. There should also have been a featherweight title bout between Max Holloway and the undefeated Brian Ortega, but Holloway's recent concussion-like symptoms meant he had to withdraw from the fight.
But it’s not just UFC 226 that you can enjoy on BT Sport during International Fight Week. From a reality show with a difference to some classic action, here are three more picks to get your blood pumping…
1. Live UFC Ultimate Fighter Finale
Saturday 7 July, 3am, BT Sport 2/HD (CH 532/528)
The Ultimate Fighter is the reality show that takes MMA pros and makes them battle it out for the coveted prize of a real-life contract with the UFC. This season’s head coaches? Only the very same heavyweights who will be bashing skulls in UFC 226’s main event – Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier. Talk about added spice. The series finale will see two lightweights and two featherweights go all out for a shot at the big time.
2. UFC Ultimate Knockouts
Monday 9 July, 4.45am, BT Sport 2/HD (CH 532/528)
Prepare for some seriously hard-hitting entertainment with a round-up of the UFC’s most spectacular finishes. This episode focuses on knockout artists hailing from Brazil, with the likes of Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort and Jose Aldo showcasing what they do best (that’s knocking people out, in case you were in any doubt).
3. UFC Top 10: European Fighters
Wednesday 11 July, 3.30am, BT Sport 2/HD (CH 532/528)
It’s not just the stars across the pond who are tough as nails in the world of the UFC. This show counts down Europe’s finest ever fighters, with Conor McGregor, Michael Bisping and Khabib Nurmagomedov all featuring. But which MMA maestro is the king when push comes to shove?
