Fill your boots on Sky Sports this week

Premier League football, the fourth Ashes Test and the return of F1 are all ready to entertain you

Some weeks are so packed with top live sport on the telly, you just have to surrender to them. This is very much one of those weeks

This week on Sky Sports

Where to start? How about three top Premier League showdowns, including the North London Derby? Maybe the fourth Ashes Test from Old Trafford has got your attention, or are you itching for the triumphant return of Formula One in Belgium? And let’s not forget the Old Firm Derby and a star-studded golf tournament from the European Tour.

Here, we pick out eight unmissable events to watch live on Sky Sports this week. See you on the other side…

European Tour: Omega European Masters

Golfer Rory McIlroy takes a swing

From Thursday 29 August, 10.30am, Sky Sports Golf/HD (CH 515/505)

Rory McIlroy, Danny Willett, Sergio Garcia and Tommy Fleetwood are among the stars hoping to swing their way to victory at Switzerland’s Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in this unmissable tournament from the European Tour. Elsewhere, defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick and Lee Westwood will also be in action over four days of top drama.

Formula 1 Johnnie Walker Belgian Grand Prix

From Friday 30 August, 10am, Sky Sports F1®/HD (CH 516/506)

Counting down the days until the F1 returns from its mid-season break? Well get ready to start your engine once again as the championship heads to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps. Mercedes maestro Lewis Hamilton is in pole position, his eyes firmly locked on this year’s crown, but there’s still time for the chasing pack to have a big say in the title race.

Sky Bet Championship: Cardiff City v Fulham

Friday 30 August, 7pm, Sky Sports Football/HD (CH 513/503)

Last season was a grim one for these two clubs, as they both dropped down to the Sky Bet Championship from the Premier League. With little room for error, even this early in the race for promotion, neither side will want to slip up when they clash at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Premier League: Burnley v Liverpool

Liverpool player Roberto Firmino

Saturday 31 August, 5pm, Sky Sports Premier League/HD (CH 512/502)

With their sights set on the Premier League title this season, Jürgen Klopp’s Reds travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley. The Merseysiders came from behind to win 3-1 here last season and will be the favourites to leave with another three points. But Sean Dyche’s dogged Clarets might have something to say about that…

Ladbrokes Premiership: Rangers v Celtic

Sunday 1 September, 11am, Sky Sports Football/HD (CH 513/503)

Feisty, ferocious and fearsome, there’s nothing like an Old Firm derby. Steven Gerrard’s Rangers will see this as a great opportunity to prove how serious they are about challenging champions Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season. Buckle up, it’s going to be one heck of a game at Ibrox.

Premier League: Everton v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sunday 1 September, 1pm, Sky Sports Premier League/HD (CH 512/502)

Two sides who spent big over the summer square off at Goodison Park in a match that could be an end-to-end thriller. The Everton players are likely to have revenge on their minds after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Wolves here last season.

Premier League: Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur

Sunday 1 September, 4pm, Sky Sports Premier League/HD (CH 512/502)

Expect fireworks, songs about ruling North London and some of the Premier League’s most exciting stars doing what they do best when the Gunners and Spurs go head to head. These fierce rivals don’t know the meaning of dull, as demonstrated by Arsenal’s drama-filled 4-2 win over their neighbours at the Emirates last term.

Ashes Series 2019: England v Australia

Cricketer Joe Root batting for England

From Wednesday 4 September, 10am, Sky Sports Cricket/HD (CH 514/504)

Old Trafford opens its doors to England and Australia as the tussle for sport’s most famous urn continues. The last time the hosts won an Ashes Test here? All the way back in 1981. Since then, England have drawn three and lost three when taking on the Aussies in Manchester. Can Joe Root’s side end that winless run?
