Harry Redknapp is known for many things. He’s never done a jigsaw puzzle. He met his wife at a pub called Two Puddings. He has no sense of smell. And he has never even heard of Toy Story. Let that last one sink in for just a moment – it’s not that he hasn’t seen Toy Story (understandable – his son Jamie is 45, after all). It’s that he has never even heard of it. Seriously. How is that even possible?!
But amid all of Harry’s heroics on I’m A Celeb, there’s something you might have forgotten: he’s also a football manager. And now Hazza is back managing again in brand new ITV show Harry’s Heroes: The Full English, in which he takes a load of former England legends who have piled on the pounds and whips them into shape for a football comeback like no other…
Back in the day, the likes of Robbie Fowler, Paul Merson and Chris Waddle terrorised opponents and ran rings around defenders. These days, the only things they’re terrorising are chip shops after closing time, and all those rings are just doughnuts. But with a match up against a team of 90s international rivals looming, they’ll need to change those habits fast.
These legends are undertaking a new regime that is similar to that of their modern footballing counterparts – and we don’t mean playing Fortnite for 12 hours a day. Instead, it’ll be an extreme change to their fitness and dietary routines. Will these English lions roar once again? Will they even be able to fit into their old England shirts? And will anyone mention that Harry Redknapp owns a water bed?
