So Floyd Mayweather Jr is coming out of retirement?

He sure is. The American has one of boxing’s greatest records, with 50 wins from his 50 professional bouts. Widely considered the best pound-for-pound boxer of all time, the 44-year-old won 15 world titles during his illustrious career. Mayweather Jr retired from pro boxing in 2015, but made a comeback in 2017 when he defeated Conor McGregor in a much-hyped showdown in Paradise, Nevada. Now he wants to take out Logan Paul.

What’s the deal with Logan Paul?

Logan Paul competing against KSI

With over 20 million subscribers, Logan Paul is one of the world’s most popular YouTubers. The 26-year-old American also happens to be pretty handy when it comes to boxing. Despite losing his only professional bout so far to fellow YouTuber KSI, Paul, who is nicknamed “The Maverick”, is a content creator who really packs a punch. He also reckons he’ll send Mayweather Jr packing…

Really?

Oh, yes. Paul isn’t short of confidence heading into the bout. “Floyd came out of retirement, just to get re-retired,” he says. “I’m about to beat the greatest fighter of all time.”

What other fights are on the bill?

The stacked undercard features plenty of top bouts, including Badou Jack’s defence of his light-heavyweight title against Dervin Colina, Jarrett Hurd taking on fellow super-welterweight Luis Arias, and Chad Johnson’s clash with Brian Maxwell.
