It was a weekend of Premier League football that had the lot. From a shake-up in the race for the top four to plenty of movement down at the bottom of the table, there was no shortage of OMG moments in the top flight.

Find out about the biggest talking points with our round-up of the action…

1. Result of the weekend

West Ham United 1-0 Arsenal

A cursory glance at this scoreline might lead you to believe it was a jammy victory for the hosts. Hardly. The Hammers gave as good as they got at the London Stadium thanks to a gritty and energetic display spearheaded by new signing (and former Arsenal midfielder) Samir Nasri. The Gunners have suddenly hit a bump in the road, losing two of their last three Premier League games. Up next? Chelsea.

2. Goal of the weekend

André Schürrle (Fulham) v Burnley

André Schürrle (Fulham) v Burnley

Showing all the athletic panache of a ballet dancer, Schürrle put Fulham ahead inside two minutes at Turf Moor with a sumptuous volley. After expertly collecting a long ball over the top, the German pinged a perfect drive over the helpless Tom Heaton and into the top corner.

3. Performance of the weekend

David de Gea (Manchester United) v Tottenham Hotspur

United’s goalkeeper was at his formidable, gangly limbed best at Wembley, saving a total of 11 shots to help the visitors cling on to an impressive 1-0 victory. It didn’t matter what Spurs threw at the Spaniard, a random part of his body was always there to keep the ball out of the net. Incredibly, this was only the Red Devils’ fourth clean sheet in the league this season.

4. Manager of the weekend

Ole Gunnar Solskjær (Manchester United)

Ole Gunnar Solskjær (Manchester United)

Making it six wins from six as caretaker boss, Sunday’s 1-0 triumph away to Tottenham must be counted as the best of the lot for Solskjær. The Norwegian set his side up to defend robustly and counter decisively – tactics that propelled the visitors to a superb win in the capital. Managing one of the biggest clubs in the world? Easy.

5. Head-scratcher of the weekend

Burnley v Fulham

How do you win a match without having a single shot on target? Just ask Burnley. The Clarets failed to trouble Fulham goalkeeper Sergio Rico on Saturday, yet two own goals helped them pick up three vital points against their fellow Premier League strugglers. “It’s football. What can you do?” said Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri.
